The Jerome Powell-led Fed cut rates by a quarter-point, aligning the expectations, but the major averages, excluding the Dow Jones Industrial Average, lost ground, potentially in a “sell-the-news” move.As the market looks past the Fed decision, the Nasdaq 100 futures rose over 0.62% as of 11 p.m. ET on Wednesday. The S&amp;P 500 and the Dow futures added 0.43% and 0.29%, respectively, and the Russell 2000 futures climbed 0.54%.The markets closed on a mixed note on Thursday as traders took stock of the Fed decision, the updated forecasts, and the dot plot, along with Powell’s comments at the post-meeting press conference. As investors digested the rest of the news flow surrounding the rate decision, the optimism gave way to skepticism.Economists and market watchers called out the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting for being a&nbsp; “mess,” as they took exception to the wide spread of the dot plot, which reflects the expectations of the 19 policymakers.Macro strategist Jim Bianco viewed this as undermining the Fed’s credibility. The “Risk Management” cut Powell referred to is seen more as a political reason than a necessity, he added. (AAPL) is seeing early signs that demand for its new iPhone 17 lineup may be stronger than the iPhone 16’s at a similar stage, according to several Wall Street analysts.&nbsp;Several firms have suggested that lead times for preorders are lengthening, especially for base models and the new Air variant, indicating customers are eager.Based on midweek checks following the iPhone 17 preorder launch on September 12, JPMorgan reported that average wait times have stretched by about four days across the line, according to TheFly. For example, the iPhone 17 (base) wait has increased by seven days, while the 17 Pro shows a five-day jump.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/AAPL">Apple stock</a> inched 0.5% higher on Wednesday afternoon. OpenAI announced on Tuesday that it will roll out a tailored ChatGPT experience for users under 18, who, once identified, will automatically be directed to a ChatGPT experience with age-appropriate policies in place.The company announced that ChatGPT for teens would also include parental controls, features to block graphic sexual content, and, in rare cases of acute distress, potentially involve law enforcement to ensure safety.OpenAI noted that, with teens growing up with AI, it has attempted to build a system that would tailor its responses to teens, aiming to differ from those of an adult. “We’re building an age-prediction system to estimate age based on how people use ChatGPT. If there is doubt, we’ll play it safe and default to the under-18 experience,” OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said.The company stated that parental controls will be available by the end of the month, allowing parents to link their account with their teen’s account, with a minimum required age of 13, through a simple email invitation.Parents will also receive notifications when the system detects their teen is in a moment of acute distress. U.S. auto safety regulator has opened a probe into Tesla Inc’s (TSLA) Model Y vehicles over concerns that the electronic door handles may become inoperative due to low battery voltage in the vehicle.The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/inv/2025/INOA-PE25010-18817.pdf">said</a> that its Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) is aware of nine incidents where customers were unable to open doors on model year 2021 Model Y vehicles.The ODI is opening the probe to assess the scope and severity of the condition, including risks associated, the NHTSA said.On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/TSLA">TSLA stock</a> stayed within the ‘extremely bullish’ territory over the past 24 hours, while message volume rose from ‘high’ to ‘extremely high’ levels.The regulator stated that the most commonly reported scenarios involving door handle issues involved parents exiting the vehicle to either remove or place a child in the back seat. While Tesla vehicles have manual door releases inside the vehicle, a child may not be able to access or operate them, the regulator said.“As a result, in these instances, an occupant who remains inside a vehicle in this condition may be unable to be rapidly retrieved by persons outside of the vehicle. Entrapment in a vehicle is particularly concerning in emergency situations, such as when children are entrapped in a hot vehicle,” the NHTSA said.The regulator said that the condition appears to occur when the electronic door locks receive insufficient voltage from the vehicle. However, no vehicle owners flagged seeing a low voltage battery warning before the external door handles became inoperative, the regulator said.The company’s guidelines for restoring power to the exterior door handles from outside the vehicle require applying 12 volts DC from a separate power source to two different points accessible from the vehicle’s exterior. However, this process may not be readily available to owners or well-known, the NHTSA said. &nbsp;The fresh probe will assess the approach used by Tesla to supply power to the door locks and the reliability of the applicable power supplies. US Regulator Opens Probe Into 174,000-Plus Tesla Model Y Vehicles – Check Out Why
