Bitcoin has achieved mainstream adoption through multiple vectors. The January 2024 SEC approval of 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs opened Bitcoin investment to traditional finance participants, and corporations like Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) are using Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset to protect against currency debasement, offering MSTR holders amplified exposure to Bitcoin.   The Bitcoin ecosystem continues to evolve with innovations like Ordinals, which emerged in January 2023 to enable NFT-like functionality directly on Bitcoin, and BRC-20 tokens, an experimental standard for creating fungible tokens using Ordinal inscriptions. BTCFi (Bitcoin Finance) represents emerging financial applications extending beyond Bitcoin's traditional role, with protocols like Babylon allowing Bitcoin holders to stake BTC to secure Proof of Stake chains.

The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. ROST Stock Rallies As Company Predicts Sales, Earnings Increase For Fiscal 2026

The discount department stores operator now expects same store sales growth of 3% to 4% for the full year on top of a 5% gain in 2025.

The retailer also opened 64 net new stores in the quarter, taking the total store count up to 7,774.The company said during its post-earnings call with analysts that its commercial sales increase fell below expectations due to the winter storms that impacted the U.S. during the quarter.&nbsp;“Q2 is always our most difficult to forecast due to the less predictable winter weather patterns, and this quarter was no exception,” a company representative said. &nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Analyst Take Away</h2>Wells Fargo recommends using the post-earnings selloff in shares of AutoZone as a buying opportunity. While the company's fiscal Q2 comps fell short, its trends appear intact when excluding weather, the analyst told investors in a research note. Wells says AutoZone's story is unchanged when backing out weather.It kept an ‘Overweight’ rating on the shares with a $4,150 price target. The new price target represents a potential upside of about 7% from the stock’s closing price on Monday.According to data from Koyfin, 21 of the 28 analysts covering AZO stock rate it ‘Buy’ or higher while six rate it ‘Hold’ and one a ‘Strong Sell’. Cigna Group Announces New CEO; Wall Street Admits Surprise But Remains Bullish

The fund is diversified across 700 positions.&nbsp;BCRED’s first-quarter&nbsp;(Q1) redemption requests totaled 7.9% of the outstanding shares, up from 4.5% in Q4.&nbsp;“Total repurchase requests for the quarter exceeded the 5% of shares typically available for repurchase. The Board elected to upsize the offer to 7% of shares, the maximum amount permitted without changing the terms of the repurchase offer,”&nbsp;the company said, according to a regulatory filing. The firm is meeting requests by stepping in, alongside employees, to offset the remaining 0.9%.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Troubles In Private Credit</h2>The private credit industry has been seeing&nbsp;a rise in redemption rates across several funds over fears&nbsp;about the asset class, as well as its exposure to software businesses, which are at risk of AI-related disruption.Blue Owl last month permanently stopped allowing redemptions from Blue Owl Capital Corp. II, a semi-liquid private credit fund marketed to U.S. retail investors, abandoning its earlier plan to reopen withdrawals later this quarter. The firm said it would begin returning investor capital.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Analyst Take</h2>Evercore ISI analyst Glenn Schorr&nbsp;said in an analyst note that Blackstone's perpetual, non-traded BDC, BCRED, reported rise in redemption rate for Q1 compared to Q4, and BCRED will fulfill 100% of requests this quarter, even though repurchases exceeded both the 5% tender offer and the subsequently upsized 7% cap, as per TheFly.&nbsp;The firm said investors were not anticipating redemption requests approaching 8% and it expects the group will face "a challenging trading session”. Schorr further added that BCRED, the "category leader in private credit," has "effectively raised the bar for all the other non-traded BDCs," narrowly avoiding the potential backlash associated with gating redemptions.&nbsp;Evercore ISI&nbsp;kept an ‘Outperform’ rating and $170 price target on Blackstone shares.&nbsp;Goldman Sachs noted that Blackstone reported flow trends across a number of Wealth products, including BCRED.
