Dell increased revenues by more than 80% compared to last year Q1, the business basically transformed since then so the trailing ratio does not reflect the situation accurately I think. IMO The forward one is more appropriate here. Based on 17.9 EPS guidance in Q1 the forward P/E is 22-23.
