Unlike executive orders, federal statutes cannot be easily reversed by future administrations, giving the proposal a more permanent legal foundation.The legislation would apply the 20-year holding requirement to all federally controlled Bitcoin, including assets seized in criminal investigations such as the Silk Road and Bitfinex cases. Iran launched attacks targeting U.S. warships in the region, according to U.S. officials, prompting retaliatory American strikes on Iranian military positions. The escalation cast fresh doubt over ongoing peace negotiations between the two countries.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Bitcoin, Ethereum Lose Key Technical Levels</h2>The overall cryptocurrency market was down 1% on the day, keeping above $2.7 trillion. It's the largest spot Bitcoin ETF in the market, with over $66 billion in assets under management. The only other funds to see inflows this week were Ark Invest’s&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/ARKB">ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (AKRB)</a>, which recorded around $92.3 million, and the newly launched&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/MSBT">Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust (MSBT)</a>, which logged around $12.2 million.<h2 class="st-heading-2">BlackRock’s IBIT Dominates Bitcoin ETF Inflows</h2>On Wednesday alone, IBIT drew in $134.6 million, the only Bitcoin spot ETF to see inflows on the day. On the other side of the ledger, the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/FBTC">Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC)</a> posted the largest outflows, amounting to around $38.95 million, followed by&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/BITB">the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB)</a>, with redemptions exceeding $25 million.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/IBIT">IBIT’s price</a> edged 0.6% lower in pre-market trade alongside the selloff in cryptocurrency markets.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin (BTC)</a> fell over 2% in the last 24 hours to below $81,000. Spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $2.44 billion last month, the strongest monthly figure since October 2025, when Bitcoin hit its $126,000 all-time high. Traditional financial systems can reverse transactions, he said, contrasting this with Bitcoin’s “bearer and final” design.
