What is Chromia? Chromia is an open source public blockchain conceived of by Swedish company Chromaway AB. The Chroma token (CHR) was launched in May of 2019. Chromia is a standalone Layer-1 blockchain and EVM compatible Layer-2 enhancement for Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum. The blockchain uses a unique architecture called relational blockchain, as well as a custom programming language called Rell.  Rell is designed to code and function very similarly to SQL, allowing developers to leverage the security and immutability of blockchain while storing and handling data with the efficiency of a relational database.  Each dApp running on Chromia operates on its own sidechain which is rooted in the main blockchain. This allows each application to scale more efficiently and gives each application developer the freedom to choose from a variety of fee structures. For example, one application may require users to pay transaction fees in CHR (similar to how Ethereum or Bitcoin work), while another application could stake enough CHR to reserve computational power and allow their users to make unlimited transactions without paying any fees at all.   What applications have been built on Chromia? Chromia already has a wide variety of applications building upon their blockchain, using their chain as a decentralized storage layer, and using their Layer-2 enhancements. These applications range from DeFi options trading platform Hedget, to open world farming game My Neighbor Alice, to government land registry initiative LAC PropertyChain.  One of the latest features in development is a new NFT standard called Chromia Originals, which will operate both as a native standard on Chromia’s chain as well as an enhancement layer for existing ERC-721 and BEP-721 tokens. Work on these Layer-2 enhancements are being developed in cooperation with My Neighbor Alice.  Who is behind Chromia? In a significant policy shift, U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright revealed the termination of 24 financial assistance awards valued at more than $3.7 billion to clean energy projects.These grants, managed by the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED), were found to fall short in supporting national energy priorities, lacked cost-effectiveness, and offered little assurance of a beneficial return for taxpayers.&nbsp;Close to 70% of the rescinded awards were granted in the period between former President Joe Biden’s election day and&nbsp;President Donald Trump’s inauguration on&nbsp;January 20th—most of the impacted initiatives centered on carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) and broader decarbonization strategies.&nbsp;The Department of Energy (DOE) estimates that halting these programs will save taxpayers approximately $3.6 billion right away. According to a Bloomberg&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-05-30/trump-canceling-3-7-billion-in-clean-energy-projects">report</a>, the list of terminated awards includes $331 million previously allocated to Exxon Mobil Corp.(XOM) for a hydrogen initiative at its Baytown, Texas refinery; $170 million intended for Kraft Heinz Co. (KHC) to support multiple clean energy developments; and $500 million designated for Heidelberg Materials AG to fund a low-carbon cement project.&nbsp;This decision is part of the DOE's broader strategy to back only those projects that fulfill rigorous criteria for economic soundness, national defense, and energy reliability.“While the previous administration failed to conduct a thorough financial review before signing away billions of taxpayer dollars, the Trump administration is doing our due diligence to ensure we are utilizing taxpayer dollars to strengthen our national security, bolster affordable, reliable energy sources and advance projects that generate the highest possible return on investment,” said Secretary Wright.According to the Bloomberg report, additional awards revoked on Friday include $375 million for Eastman Chemical Co. Diamondback Energy (FANG) stock gained in extended trading on Monday after the company’s fourth-quarter earnings topped Wall Street’s estimates.According to FinChat data, the oil and gas producer posted adjusted Q4 earnings of $3.64 per share, while analysts, on average, expected the company to report $3.38 per share.The company’s fourth-quarter revenue of $3.71 billion also topped Wall Street’s estimate of $3.55 billion.Diamondback’s net income rose to $1.07 billion, compared to $960 million, in the year-ago quarter.The company’s production volumes soared to 883,424 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), compared with 462,565 boe/d last year.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Diamondback had strengthened its presence in the Permian basin last year by completing a $26 billion deal for privately held Endeavor Energy.The gains in production were slightly offset by a decline in oil prices. Diamondback Energy Rises Aftermarket On Q4 Profit Beat, Retail’s Elated

The company’s fourth-quarter revenue of $3.71 billion also topped Wall Street’s estimate of $3.55 billion.

Coterra Energy (CTRA) garnered retail attention after the bell on Monday after the company’s fourth-quarter earnings topped Wall Street’s estimates.The oil and gas producer posted adjusted earnings of $0.49 per share for the reported quarter, while analysts, on average, expected the company to post $0.43 per share, according to FinChat data.Its quarterly revenue fell 12.6% to $1.40 billion in the fourth quarter, coming in slightly below estimates.Shares of the company fell 0.5% in aftermarket trade.The company’s average sales price of oil was $68.57 per barrel, down from $77.10 per barrel last year. Coterra Stock In Spotlight After Q4 Profit Beat, Marcellus Basin Production Restart Plan: Retail Chatter Rises

Diamondback Energy (FANG) stock gained retail attention ahead of the company’s fourth-quarter earnings report, which is scheduled for Monday after the bell.According to Koyfin data, Wall Street expects Diamondback to report fourth-quarter earnings per share of $3.38 and revenue of $3.55 billion. The company has topped market expectations seven out of the last eight quarters.Lower oil prices are expected to hurt the company’s earnings. In January, it posted average unhedged realized prices of $69.48 per barrel for the fourth quarter, compared with $76.42 per barrel last year.According to The Fly, Raymond James analysts expected the company to beat earnings estimates on costs and capital expenditures. Diamondback Energy Q4 Earnings Preview: Lower Oil Prices To Dent Bottom Line, Retail Remains Extremely Bullish

According to Koyfin data, Wall Street expects Diamondback to report fourth-quarter earnings per share of $3.38 and revenue of $3.55 billion.

Diamondback Energy (FANG) stock garnered retail attention on Thursday after it said long-term CEO Travis Stice would step down and be replaced by Chief Financial Officer Kaes Van't Hof.The oil and gas producer said the leadership changes would be effective from the annual 2025 stockholders' meeting.The company said that Stice would become the executive chair of the board following the transition and remain in that position till the annual stockholders’ meeting in 2026, when the oil industry veteran is expected to become the non-executive chairman.Stice joined Diamondback as its chief operating officer in 2011 before taking charge as chief executive in Jan. 2012.
