The Cosmos network consists of many independent, parallel blockchains, called zones, each powered by classical Byzantine fault-tolerant (BFT) consensus protocols like Tendermint. Some zones act as hubs with respect to other zones, allowing many zones to interoperate through a shared hub. The architecture uses classic BFT and Proof-of-Stake algorithms, instead of Proof-of-Work. Cosmos can interoperate with multiple other applications and cryptocurrencies, something other blockchains can’t do well. By creating a new zone, you can plug any blockchain system into the Cosmos hub and pass tokens back and forth between those zones, without the need for an intermediary.  While the Cosmos Hub is a multi-asset distributed ledger, there is a special native token called the atom. ATOM have three use cases: as a spam-prevention mechanism, as staking tokens, and as a voting mechanism in governance.  As a spam prevention mechanism, ATOM are used to pay fees. The fee may be proportional to the amount of computation required by the transaction, similar to Ethereum’s concept of “gas”. Fee distribution is done in-protocol and a protocol specification is described here.  As staking tokens, ATOM can be “bonded” in order to earn block rewards. The economic security of the Cosmos Hub is a function of the amount of ATOM staked. The more ATOM that are collateralized, the more “skin” there is at stake and the higher the cost of attacking the network. Thus, the more ATOM there are bonded, the greater the economic security of the network.  Atom holders may govern the Cosmos Hub by voting on proposals with their staked ATOM.

The project traces its origins back to 2004 with Ryan Fugger before being co-founded in its modern form by Jed McCaleb and Chris Larsen. The company, now known as Ripple, works with major financial institutions as partners and investors to build global payment solutions. To protect the network from spam, a small amount of XRP is burned during every transaction, and the token is further utilized by institutions as collateral to access traditional markets and manage digital asset infrastructure.  Institutional adoption of the asset reached a major milestone in November 2025 when the SEC approved the first wave of spot XRP ETFs. These products, offered by major issuers including Bitwise, Grayscale, 21Shares, Canary Capital, and Franklin Templeton, are now listed on prominent exchanges like the NYSE Arca, Nasdaq, and Cboe BZX. While Ripple remains a key contributor to the ecosystem, the underlying XRP Ledger continues to operate as an open-source and decentralized network.

India is considering shelving three planned privatisation sales amid weak investor appetite, two government sources said, a slump that has already derailed its attempt to sell a stake in IDBI Bank and is a fresh blow to the government’s flagship divestment programme. The privatisation plan, delayed for years, is now facing fresh setbacks that include dwindling interest in state-run firms such as Shipping Corporation of India and HLL Lifecare, besides the collapse of the IDBI Bank stake sale last week after bids fell short of the government’s minimum price. India’s finance, shipping and health ministries and the companies did not respond to Reuters ’ queries. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious privatisation plan was aimed at having the state exit most sectors while remaining only in sensitive ones such as telecom and banking. But the government could only sell Air India to Tata Sons, and indirect holdings in steel-maker Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd to Tata Steel, and Ferro Scrap Nigam to Konoike Transport Co.

In good news, another vessel carrying LPG arrived in India, crossing the key Strait of Hormuz, on Tuesday evening. Tanker Nanda Devi has reached Vadinar Port in Gujarat, becoming the second vessel to cross the conflict zone in two days. On Monday, LPG tanker Shivalik reached Mundra Port. While Nanda Devi carries over 47,000 metric tons of LPG, Shivalik carries 46,000 metric tons of LPG. Together, the two vessels have arrived carrying almost 90,000 metric tons of LPG, which could provide significant relief amid the crisis. As for Shivalik, the vessel is at Mundra port, where advance paperwork and prioritised cargo unloading arrangements are being carried out. Rajesh Kumar Sinha, special secretary in the Shipping Ministry, had earlier stated that the Shivalik and Nanda Devi could arrive in India on March 16 and 17. It is expected that 24,000 metric tons will be sent to Tamil Nadu. Earlier, the Chief Officer of the Nanda Devi vessel said that the initiative was taken by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and the Shipping Corporation of India, with the Indian and Iranian navies providing the necessary assistance to cross the Strait of Hormuz. Relief For India As LPG Tanker Shivalik Safely Crosses Strait Of Hormuz, Docks At Mundra With 45,000 MT Gas

The Indian-flagged Shivalik LPG Carrier docked at Mundra Port after safely navigating the Strait of Hormuz with about 45,000 tonnes of LPG from Qatar. Operated by Shipping Corporation of India, the shipment is expected to support domestic fuel supplies. Another LPG carrier, Nanda Devi, is set to reach Kandla with additional cargo.
