The number could reach 500 GW, he added.“Average U.S. electricity consumption is around 500 GW, so at 300 GW/year, AI in space would exceed the entire U.S. economy just in intelligence processing every 2 years,” he said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Big Tech’s Power Demand</h2>Deloitte analysts estimated that by 2035, the power demand from AI data centers in the United States could grow more than thirtyfold, reaching 123 GW, up from 4 GW in 2024. The Deloitte report also warned that the AI ambitions of the U.S. government and the industry could even struggle to connect their data centers to the grid.Top executives in the AI industry have all raised alarms about an impending crisis, with some suggesting that these concerns can be addressed by moving data centers into space. During a conversation with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at a U.S.-Saudi summit on Wednesday, Musk said that space-based AI computing could be achievable by the end of the decade.“My estimate is that the cost effectiveness of AI in space will be overwhelmingly better than AI on the ground, far long before you exhaust potential energy sources on Earth,” Musk said. “Long, long before, meaning I think even perhaps in the four or five year timeframe, the lowest cost way to do AI compute will be with solar-powered AI satellites. Starlink had reached the six million mark in June.The company said that over the past year, Starlink has expanded to 42 new countries, territories, and other markets around the world while growing by 2.7 million-plus active customers globally.During this time, the SpaceX team has also launched more than 100 Starlink missions, adding over 2,300 satellites to the constellation, and invested heavily in ground infrastructure, network backbone, and internal technologies and systems.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Other Gulf Airlines’ Offering Starlink</h2>According to Bloomberg, starting last year, Qatar Airways was the first carrier to offer Starlink in the Gulf. SpaceX’s Starlink To Equip Emirates Flights With In-Flight Wi-Fi Upgrade: Report

According to a Bloomberg News report, citing people familiar with the matter, the partnership between Starlink and Emirates is set to be unveiled at the Dubai Air Show, which begins on Monday.

The company will also not charge anything for the kit and installation. Starlink’s other plans cost $80 and $120 per month in the U.S. The plan will cover large parts of California, Oregon, Arizona, and New Jersey, among dozens of other states, but has not been rolled out nationwide.The affordable plan puts Starlink in direct competition with the likes of AT&amp;T and Verizon, which provide fiber-optic internet, to gain more customers in rural areas. Isaacman is the founder of payment processor Shift4 Payments and Draken International, which provides adversary training to NATO air forces. He had flown to orbit twice on SpaceX’s rockets and spacecraft.&nbsp;The development comes close on the heels of Musk locking horns with Duffy over the latter’s statement that he will open NASA’s Artemis U.S. moon-landing contract to other companies, such as Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin. SpaceX is among the contractors participating in the project that aims to take astronauts to the moon by 2027. In an interview with CNBC in late October, the Transportation Secretary hinted that SpaceX was falling behind the timeline.&nbsp;Duffy was also&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://edition.cnn.com/2025/10/27/politics/sean-duffy-nasa-transportation">reportedly</a> striving to fold NASA into DoT, which, however, was opposed by other Trump administration officials.
