WMT Walmart Inc

A lot of people like to compare $WMT and $AMZN but I would like to point out just one thing. While you hear a lot of stories about Amazon boxes stacking up on front porches, each box generally represents just one item. And for most of the country those boxes arrive only about every other week or so (I know, people in the cities order more often). But in the majority of the country most families shop at Walmart at least weekly if not more often and their shopping carts look full like the one in the photo below.

$WMT In late August I pointed out that the shares had dropped but that they wouldn’t stay down long. And they didn’t. They were about $102 then and they’re $123 today. Great companies are bought when they’re out of favor with traders. Walmart is a great company.

Consumer staples now trade at about 24 times forward earnings. Tech trades at about 20. $WMT all you have to do is drive by a Walmart/Sam’s Club and look at the parking lot during business hours. It’s generally full. In good times or bad times, people are still going to shop at Walmart. I’ve been investing and buying more stock ever since my first investment in Walmart 1990. 

Whenever the markets are getting crushed, it’s always a good idea to see where the buying is being directed. Today was one of those crushing days. And one of the stocks that was pushed higher while everything else was being sold off, was $WMT . Imagine that. Who would have thought that was possible?

$WMT Looking very good. If we get a raid on some of the sell stops I see... i'll be there to add. It's been a great couple weeks. And I expect the next two could be even better.
