CEO Sam Altman said AI is reshaping the global economy and requires massive computing capacity. ChatGPT now has over 900 million weekly active users and more than 50 million paid subscribers, while enterprise users exceed 9 million. Codex has tripled its user base this year to 1.6 million weekly users. 
Amazon will initially invest $15B, with another $35B tied to conditions, strengthening Amazon Web Services as a key partner. AWS will become the exclusive third-party cloud provider for “OpenAI Frontier,” and both companies will develop a stateful runtime environment via Amazon Bedrock.
