Zcash was created by a group of scientists in 2013 who initially proposed Zerocoin as a privacy extension to Bitcoin before building a standalone protocol. The ecosystem operates with a self-funded development model where block rewards support independent teams through the Zcash Community Grants Committee and a new Coinholder-Controlled Fund.

July retail sales will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, with economists expecting a 0.1% increase versus 0.2% in June. Retail stocks remain under pressure, with the SPDR S&amp;P Retail ETF down 4.5% from its August high and several major retailers trading well below their peaks. 
China is another key focus, as U.S. markets continue to outperform Chinese equities.
