$UBER $DASH If investing were as simple as picking the lower P/E, this would be easy. DASH is getting a higher multiple because the market expects faster growth. The question is whether that growth is worth the premium. That's the comparison you left out.

Lenny Kreymer

$UBER trades at 18x forward P/E while $DASH trades at 54x

Which one would you pick here?

@OscarPapa why on earth would the market be expecting faster growth from door dash when UBER has multiple large businesses, ride share, delivery, ad business, freight, catering, etc. Makes 0 sense

@ISmokeCigs Why would having more businesses automatically mean Uber has to grow faster percentage-wise?

DoorDash revenue grew 24% last quarter even excluding Deliveroo. Uber gross bookings grew 22%, with Mobility at 20% and Delivery and Freight both at 25%.

Uber having more businesses gives it more potential sources of growth, but it doesn't mean the whole company has to grow at a higher percentage than DoorDash every quarter.
