That is this morning in plain English. Lockheed sold 20.7 billion dollars worth in the third quarter, earned 7.97 a share against 7.52 expected, and lifted its sales and earnings view for the full year while its backlog climbed to a record 292 billion dollars. A backlog that large means the work is already ordered and waiting, so this swing is about buyers following money that is already committed, not hoping for a story to turn true. P.S. A single 52.5 billion dollar award for PAC 3 interceptors sits inside that backlog jump. One program alone explains a big part of why the guidance went up.

Lockheed reports third quarter results on October 22 before the open, and it carries a record backlog near 230 billion dollars, which in plain words means customers have already signed for years of work and tomorrow is about how well that work pays. This is a swing setup into that report, with price holding near 548 dollars after a strong week, and the November contract gives the idea room to work after the numbers land. If price closes under 540 dollars, the hold failed and you step aside. P.S. Watch the 559.48 dollar high from the last session first. A close above it would show buyers pressing into the report, not just holding ground.

Lockheed closed at $548.23 today after touching $540 and holding it, up about 7.6 percent in five sessions, and earnings arrive Thursday morning October 22 with a record backlog near $230 billion behind the numbers. What that means is simple. Buyers have already shown they will defend $540, and if that floor holds through the report, price has room toward $580 first and $615 next, while a close under $540 would say the pause failed and you step aside. P.S. Watch the $554.72 high from today. A close over it before Thursday would show buyers pushing into the report, not just waiting for it.
