$NKE I’m long 6,100 shares. Just want to say that first. Next, I see a lot of optimism for Nike stock following the recovery from the earnings slump. I wish I could feel the same excitement. However, since October 2 close (post earnings), Nike’s great run quite plausibly has nothing to do with Nike specifically. In fact, most peers have outperformed Nike since October 2 close. $ONON $DECK $DKS $ADDYY . Basically improving macro for these stocks is the reason they’re all up since Nike’s report. Or anti-AI or whatever. Nike isn’t up because buyers stepped in specifically for Nike.

Another way to put it is, $NKE very well could have been at $25 right now if peers had also dropped since October 2. If macro had been worse.

What I want to see from Nike is specific strength. I want to see buyers picking Nike over peers. So far I’ve only seen buyers picking peers over Nike as in the past 30 days $DKS $ONON are up 20-30 %, $DECK up 10 %, and $NKE is only up 5 %.
