@SonGoku NVIDIA is reportedly developing its own HBM base die for 2027 production, but that&#39;s it ~ also they&#39;re fabless, so if they chose to allocate the enormous amount of capital required to build a fab ~ we would hear about it in an earning reports.

@SonGoku Attempting to build their own memory would instantly turn key suppliers “SK Hynix, Samsung and Micron” into competitors. Nvidia would instantly be cut off. They’re Nvidia’s most critical hardware partners. Nvidia relies on all 3 for pricing leverage benefits.

Also, diverting billions from GPU development to building memory fabs would dilute their competitive advantage risking comp like AMD, GOOG, Broadcom, etc… to gain ground. 

Another reason, Micron is the only major American company capable of producing HBM. Given the U.S. government&#39;s heavy focus on domestic semiconductor supply chain control, Nvidia has strong incentives to maintain a deep, long-term engineering relationship with Micron.

The risk is irresponsible and reckless to say the least.
