Apple will NOT and should NOT buy Chinese memory 
1. Apple was told not to buy Chinese memory , bipartisan US lawmakers told Apple not to buy from CXMT and YMTC because they are a threat to national security since they are alleged to have connections to the Chinese military.
2. Apple will lose a ton of business , people will be thinking of why they would buy a premium product like an iPhone which May contain spyware that will get their personal information . Apple will lose a ton of goodwill and harm their reputation with consumers 
3. In relation to Sandisk , YMTC sells NAND and CXMT sells DRAM but YMTC is on the Entity list which means it  restricts exports or sharing technical information without a license to YMTC
5. Sandisk has superior technology to YMTC ( Has no enterprise SSD qualification ( which requires 2 to 3 years to qualify) and Sandisk Bics10 has 332 layers vs 294 for YMTC . 
6. Sandisk has Stargate QLC ( 4 bits per cell ) vs YMTC TLC ( 3 bits per cell )

@ndco997 the US market is less than 33% of their device hardware cost line. They can easily switch devices they sell to all other countries to any memory source they wish.
