Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

Shares of AI infrastructure provider CoreWeave Inc. (CRWV) surged 5% on Monday, defying a Bank of America downgrade on valuation concerns.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/CRWV">CoreWeave’s</a> initial public offering (IPO) was the largest technology IPO since 2021. The stock has nearly quadrupled since its listing in March this year from the IPO price of $40.BofA analyst Brad Sills downgraded CoreWeave to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Buy’ but raised the price target to $185 from $76. The new price target still implies an 18% upside from the stock’s current price of approximately $156.According to TheFly, BofA noted that the stock has run up 145% following the company’s first-quarter (Q1) earnings.“We acknowledge there are positive developments including: (1) a new hyperscaler customer; (2) expansion on OpenAI agreement; and (3) debt raise at lower cost of capital,” Sills wrote in a note to clients, <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/16/bank-of-america-downgrades-hot-ipo-and-nvidia-derivative-coreweave-citing-valuation.html">according</a> to a CNBC report.“However, with stock trading at 25x CY27e EBIT, a premium to the peer group at 16x, we believe much of the upside is priced in,” Sills noted.Although the firm’s spending on artificial intelligence could be hitting its peak, the BofA analyst noted that he still sees “solid sustained demand in CoreWeave’s AI infrastructure market.”CoreWeave has been in the news recently after the company sold its entire stake in Applied Digital (APLD), according to a filing.Earlier, Applied Digital had finalized two long-term leases with CoreWeave. A European Central Bank report stated that gold reserves held by central banks in 2024 are close to levels last seen in the Bretton Woods era.The <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.ecb.europa.eu/press/other-publications/ire/focus/html/ecb.irebox202506_01~f93400a4aa.en.html">report</a> titled ‘Gold demand: the role of the official sector and geopolitics,’ indicated that the commodity now accounts for a far smaller share of total gold supply. “This stockpile, together with high prices, made gold the second largest global reserve asset at market prices in 2024, after the US dollar,” the report said.In 2024, central banks’ demand for gold remained at record highs and accounted for 20% of global demand, in contrast to around one-tenth on average in the 2010s.Gold prices have been on the rise as multiple wars, economic uncertainty, and trade tensions have enhanced the yellow metal’s appeal as a safe-haven investment.The report suggested that gold demand for monetary reserves rose sharply in the wake of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and has remained high.“However, gold purchases for jewelry consumption and investment continued to account for the bulk of global gold demand,” it said. Some central banks in the emerging and developing economies cited concerns related to sanctions and the possible erosion of the role of major currencies as reasons for holding gold.A survey of 60 central banks conducted by the World Gold Council between February and April 2024 suggested that gold being a long-term store of value and an inflation hedge, as well as its good performance during times of crisis, were drivers of central banks’ gold holdings. The yellow metal being an effective portfolio diversifier was also cited as a prime reason.Spot gold prices rose 0.28% on Wednesday and traded over the $3,330 per ounce mark following the release of the inflation data that showed price rises were slower than expected. Billionaire hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones reportedly stated that President Donald Trump can be expected to appoint an “uber dovish” Federal Reserve Chair to boost his growth agenda.In an interview <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-06-11/paul-tudor-jones-says-trump-will-pick-uber-dovish-fed-chair?srnd=phx-economics-v2">with</a> Bloomberg Television, Jones contended that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is likely to be Trump’s pick for the post when Jerome Powell’s term concludes.Bessent is reportedly emerging as a top contender who could succeed Jerome Powell as the Federal Reserve Chair, after Trump said on Friday that he would nominate a successor “very soon.”According to a Bloomberg report, Bessent’s name has received support from advisors within and outside the Trump administration to lead the Federal Reserve. Another contender is Kevin Warsh, a former Fed official whom President Trump interviewed for the Treasury Secretary position.Jones called the contenders “fabulous names” but said Bessent is a stand-out candidate given his loyalty to Trump and the President’s focus on growth.The billionaire investor also stated that Trump’s tax bill might pressure the stock and bond markets in the coming times and hinted that it will prompt rate cuts over the next 12 months.“The Big, Beautiful Bill is really interesting — the name of it is a genius in branding,” he said, according to the Bloomberg report. “What is the counterfactual to the Big, Beautiful Bill? Boeing Delivers 45 Planes In May, Gross Orders Reportedly Hit Highest Level Since December 2023

The aircraft manufacturer’s gross orders for new airplanes in May 2025 hit 303, marking the highest level since December 2023, according to a CNBC report.

Insurance broker Brown &amp; Brown, Inc. (BRO) is set to acquire rival Accession Risk Management Group, Inc. in a deal valued at $9.825 billion.Brown &amp; Brown said in a <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/06/10/3096453/0/en/Brown-Brown-Inc-enters-into-agreement-to-acquire-Accession-Risk-Management-Group.html">statement</a> that it has entered into an agreement to acquire RSC Topco, Inc., the holding company for Accession.The firm said that once the deal is closed, the Risk Strategies team will become part of Brown &amp; Brown’s Retail segment, with John Mina joining the Retail senior leadership team.Meanwhile, Brown &amp; Brown will combine its Programs and Wholesale Brokerage segments into a new Specialty Distribution segment, which will be led by Steve Boyd and Chris Walker.Its subsidiary, One80 Intermediaries, will join Brown &amp; Brown’s new Specialty Distribution segment, with Matt Power joining the senior leadership team.“The business will remain aligned with Brown &amp; Brown’s decentralized sales and service model, while gaining access to Brown &amp; Brown’s global resources, specialty capabilities, and collaborative network,” the firm said.The two companies see expanded access and a market-leading portfolio of niche solutions for their customers as a result of the acquisition.Brown &amp; Brown said the acquired operations are expected to be accretive to its 2024 adjusted diluted net income per share. The company has filed for a $4 billion share offering, potentially to fund the deal.Brown &amp; Brown CEO J. Brown & Brown To Acquire Rival Accession Risk In $9.8B Deal, Announces $4B Share Sale

American households’ expectations about inflation declined across time horizons while pessimism about the labor market situation eased in May, <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.newyorkfed.org/newsevents/news/research/2025/20250609">according</a> to the Survey of Consumer Expectations released by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.The survey showed that one-year-ahead inflation expectations fell by 0.4 percentage point to 3.2%, while three-year-ahead expectations dropped by 0.2 percentage point to 3.0%. At the same time, five-year-ahead expectations fell by 0.1 percentage point to 2.6%.However, the year-ahead expected change in food prices rose by 0.4 percentage point to 5.5%, marking the highest level since October 2023.Notably, the New York Fed survey is less volatile than other surveys, such as the University of Michigan and Conference Board measures, a CNBC <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/09/inflation-fears-receded-in-may-as-trump-eased-some-tariff-threats-new-york-fed-survey-shows.html">report</a> noted.National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett told CNBC that by every measure of inflation, it’s lower than it’s been in more than four years. “While the tariff revenue has been going up, inflation has been coming down, which is contrary to the story that everybody else has been saying, but very consistent with what we’ve been saying,” he said.The survey showed that the mean perceived probability of losing one’s job in the next 12 months reduced by 0.5 percentage point to 14.8%. At the same time, the mean probability that the U.S. unemployment rate will be higher one year from now fell 3.3 percentage points to 40.8%. However, this remains well above the trailing 12-month average of 37.7%.Investors are now eyeing the release of the consumer inflation data later this week.
