President Donald Trump will host a black-tie dinner for top buyers of his meme coin, Official Trump (TRUMP) on Thursday evening at his private golf club in Northern Virginia, drawing international crypto figures and U.S. loyalists alike.
The TRUMP token’s price has surged more than 11% in the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko, amid a broader cryptocurrency rally following Bitcoin’s (BTC) jump past $111,000.
Among the confirmed attendees is China-born crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun, who secured the top spot in the contest with an $18.5 million wallet.
Sun is also an adviser to World Liberty Financial, the Trump family’s crypto venture, and the founder of blockchain platform TRON.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently paused a 2023 fraud case against him, citing public interest. Sun did not respond to requests for comment but wrote on X that he was “grateful for the invitation.” The SEC also declined to comment.
Sheldon Zia, founder of the Cayman Islands-based BitMart exchange, confirmed his attendance and said he would join the dinner and a private cocktail event beforehand.
Another guest, Vincent Liu, CIO of Taiwan-based Kronos Research, said he hopes the dinner offers a chance to network and potentially meet Trump.
According to Inca Digital data cited by Reuters, investors spent approximately $148 million on the $TRUMP coin to gain access to the dinner. Individually, they spent anywhere from as little as $53,500 to as much as $16.4 million to grab one of the dinner invites with the President.
The top 25 holders contributed more than $111 million, Inca Digital's analysis found. Those in this group are receiving access to a private VIP reception with Trump, and the four largest holders will receive a limited-edition Trump Tourbillon watch priced at $100,000.
Roughly half of the 220 wallet holders expected at the event are based outside the U.S.
