Amazon Announces Dedicated Access To Major News Channels On Prime Video

News networks accessible will include ABC News Live, CBS News 24/7, LiveNOW from Fox, CNN Headlines, and NBC News NOW, the company said.

Amazon (AMZN) on Wednesday announced the launch of a dedicated news destination on the Prime Video homepage in the U.S., including major networks such as ABC News Live, CBS News 24/7, LiveNOW from Fox.

The company said that it also includes CNN Headlines, and NBC News NOW. The move is aimed at enabling easy and convenient access to local, national, and world news coverage from major providers for the company’s U.S. customers.

The dedicated news destination is expected to be available to all U.S. customers for free by year-end. The company said that it has already started rolling it out and can be found in the top navigation panel on the Prime Video homepage for no added cost. Amazon now intends to increase the number of news channels available on its platform to over 200 by end of year.

According to Amazon, customers can access additional news offerings by subscribing to Peacock Premium Plus or Paramount+.

Separately, Amazon also announced on Wednesday that Sony Pictures Core is now available on Prime Video in the United States and Canada, featuring a collection of classic films and television series from Sony Pictures' library such as Goosebumps and Jerry Maguire for U.S. customers. The subscription channel is priced at $6.99 per month on Prime Video.

How Did Stocktwits Users React?

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around AMZN fell from ‘bullish’ to ‘neutral’ territory over the past 24 hours, while message volume rose from ‘low’ to ‘normal’ levels.

AMZN stock is up by 6% this year and by about 9% over the past 12 months.
