Shares of Cloudflare (NET) gained over 2% in early trade on Tuesday after the company announced a collaboration with Anthropic to launch Cloudflare Environments for Claude Managed Agents.
This integration allows organizations to run core agent loops on the Claude platform while using Cloudflare’s global network and Workers developer platform. It enables them to execute code, secure private connections, and provide agents with specialized tools.
By providing a secure, massively scalable environment, Cloudflare is enabling the next generation of AI assistants to be built and deployed quickly, safely, and at global scale.
For AI agents to be effective in workplace environments, they need more than just intelligence. They must also meet strict requirements for security and scalability. Cloudflare Environments for Managed Agents will address this gap by establishing the foundation for safe enterprise deployment.
A Workers-based control plane creates a secure environment for each agent session, with security and compliance rules applied automatically. This helps organizations keep strong security standards while scaling AI use from early prototypes to millions of users without infrastructure limits.
Cloudflare Environments for Claude Managed Agents lets developers build and scale AI systems using a variety of options. On Cloudflare Workers, they can use full Linux-based microVMs for heavy tasks or lightweight V8 Isolates that start in milliseconds, enabling them to run large-scale workloads efficiently.
Security is built in through Zero-Trust connectivity, with controls that manage outbound access, and Cloudflare Mesh, which enables encrypted links to private services using post-quantum-ready encryption. The platform also includes built-in monitoring tools, such as audit logs and session recordings, to support compliance and transparency.
Developers can further extend agent functionality by building custom tools directly on Cloudflare’s platform, enabling agents to dynamically create and execute functions within a secure environment.
NET stock has gained 33.13% over the past 12 months.
