Ford Motor Company (F) and Amazon.com (AMZN) announced a partnership on Monday, allowing participating Ford dealers to list their certified pre-owned vehicles on Amazon Autos.
The automaker said that customers can now shop for, finance, and purchase Ford Blue Advantage certified pre-owned (CPO) Ford vehicles on the e-commerce giant’s website.
This collaboration also allows customers to complete most of the paperwork online and then schedule a convenient time to pick up the selected vehicle, Ford said. The company added that every vehicle is backed by a Ford Blue Advantage warranty, which means it has passed a thorough multi-point inspection and comes with roadside assistance.
Ford said that its certified pre-owned vehicles are now available on Amazon Autos in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas, with plans to expand to additional cities in the coming months.
The automaker said that customers receive a vehicle that has been inspected, reconditioned, and comes with a Ford warranty, Ford Rewards points, and, in some cases, a money-back guarantee. Ford noted that about 160 to 180 dealers have expressed interest, and around 20 have already launched or are launching soon.
Ford noted that all certified pre-owned vehicles sold by participating Ford dealers on Amazon Autos come with a money-back guarantee, allowing customers to return the vehicle within 14 days or 1,000 miles.
Retail sentiment on Amazon and Ford remained unchanged in the ‘bearish’ territory, with message volumes on both at ‘low’ levels, according to data from Stocktwits.
Shares of Amazon have gained 14% in the last 12 months, while Ford stock has jumped nearly 16% in the same period.
