Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) is accelerating its push into AI-driven software development, unveiling a suite of tools at its 2025 Build conference aimed at empowering developers and organizations to build smarter, more collaborative AI agents.

The announcements span from enhanced coding assistants to new standards for AI interoperability, signaling a shift in how AI integrates into the digital landscape.

GitHub Copilot is transitioning from a simple code completion assistant into a self-directed programming agent.

This upgraded AI tool now has the ability to configure virtual setups, identify and fix bugs, and generate documentation, all while following the requirements of each project.

The goal is to simplify coding processes and free developers to concentrate on strategic aspects of their work.

Windows AI Foundry offers an all-in-one framework for building AI applications on the Windows platform, with capabilities for deploying models both locally and through the cloud.

Azure AI Foundry offers developers a centralized platform to build and manage AI solutions, now featuring over 1,900 models, including Grok 3 from xAI.

New tools like the Model Leaderboard and Model Router help evaluate and select the best models for specific tasks, enhancing customization, security, and governance for enterprise use.

Azure AI Foundry Agent Service is now widely available, enabling developers to coordinate multiple AI agents for complex tasks using a unified SDK that integrates Semantic Kernel and AutoGen.

A standout feature is its integration of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open-source framework facilitating smoother communication between AI models and third-party tools.

Microsoft 365 Copilot is introducing new features, including Copilot Tuning and multi-agent orchestration.

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is becoming a key standard for AI interoperability, helping address integration challenges, promoting a more unified AI ecosystem.

NLWeb, developed by Microsoft, is an initiative to enable AI integration on websites through simple code. It allows websites to embed AI-driven chat interfaces using user data and compatible AI models.
