U.S. stock futures were subdued early Monday amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, as investors geared up for high-stakes earnings and a Federal Reserve policy decision later this week.
Over the weekend, President Trump abruptly canceled a diplomatic mission to Pakistan, citing “infighting” in Tehran, while Iran reportedly proposed a new deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for delaying nuclear talks.
As of 4:00 a.m. ET on Monday: Dow, S&P 500, and Russell 2000 futures fell 0.1%, while Nasdaq futures were flat with negative bias.
Retail sentiment toward the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), an exchange-traded fund that tracks the S&P 500 Index, has declined to ‘neutral’ from the ‘bullish’ territory, while the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) ETF, which tracks the Nasdaq-100 Index, has slipped to ‘bearish’ from ‘neutral’ last week, as tech gears up for a crucial earnings test with four of the largest AI spenders reporting midweek.

Organon (OGN) stock rose 15% in early premarket trade. Sun Pharma confirmed an $11.75 billion acquisition of the company, with the deal slated to close in early 2027.
Poet Technologies (POET): This stock remains on the retail radar after surging over 100% last week on a partnership with Marvell and rumors of a deal with AWS.
Atomera Inc (ATOM): The stock is surging, clocking a record month following its Synopsys collaboration last week on next-gen semiconductor materials.
Intellia Therapeutics (NTLA): The stock is in focus today ahead of its release of late-stage clinical data for its hereditary angioedema therapy.
PonyAI (PONY): Has unveiled a next-gen autonomous driving controller powered by Nvidia’s chips.
Oracle (ORCL) finalized a $16 billion financing package for a new data center in Michigan.
