  • All eyes now shift to Tesla and IBM earnings after market close today.
  • President Donald Trump extended the U.S. ceasefire with Iran indefinitely, even as a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz remained in place.

U.S. stock futures rose early Wednesday, attempting to stabilize amid geopolitical overhang. President Donald Trump, on Tuesday, indefinitely extended the U.S. ceasefire with Iran, citing a "seriously fractured" Iranian government, though a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz remains in effect.

As of 4:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday: Dow futures rose 0.5%, S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures gained 0.7%, and Russell 2000 futures were up nearly 1%.

Retail sentiment toward the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), an exchange-traded fund that tracks the S&P 500 Index, and the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) ETF, which tracks the Nasdaq-100 Index, continued to remain in the ‘extremely bullish’ territory.

Trending Stocks To Watch

Tesla (TSLA) gears up to report Q1 earnings after the bell today. In other news, supply chain reports indicate that Samsung is quadrupling DRAM production for Tesla to fuel its AI and autonomous driving needs. 

IBM also reports Q1 earnings early today. Investors will be closely watching enterprise AI demand and software growth commentary.

Adobe (ADBE): Stock remains on retail radar after the announcement of a new stock buyback program.

Fermi LLC (FRMI): The board rejected former CEO Toby Neugebauer’s proposal to sell the company a day after he made the pitch. The board stated it would instead consider the best path forward, which includes implementing its new 2.0 business plan.

Trump Media (DJT): Appointed Kevin McGurn as Interim CEO, and did not provide a reason for the sudden exit of CEO Devin Nunes.

Kyverna Therapeutics (KYTX): The stock extended its rally, with a 27% surge in early pre-market trade on Wednesday, following positive results for its cell therapy in treating Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).

Other tickers trending on Stocktwits at the time of writing included Avis Budget Group (CAR), Hims & Hers Health (HIMS), Navitas Semiconductor (NVTS), and AeroVironment (AVAV).

Other Catalysts To Watch

On the economic front, traders will be watching for the EIA Weekly Petroleum Status Report at 10:30 AM ET. 

On earnings radar, watch out for quarterly reports from Boeing (BA), Freeport-McMoRan (FCX), Vertiv Holdings (VRT), and Philip Morris (PM) before the bell. Apart from Tesla and IBM, Gilead Sciences (GILD) and QuantumScape Corp (QS) are among those reporting after market close on Wednesday.
