NIO Inc.’s (NIO) mass-market sub-brand ONVO has officially kicked off pre-sales of its latest model, the L80, following a product and technology launch event held on Tuesday in China.

In a post on X, NIO founder, chairman, and CEO William Li announced the news, positioning the vehicle as a “game-changer” in the large five-seater SUV segment.

NIO stock traded 2% higher at the time of writing.

Pricing For Onvo L80

Pre-sale pricing starts at RMB 245,800 for purchasing the vehicle as a whole, with battery, or RMB 159,800 when customers opt for NIO’s battery subscription model. This is RMB 20,000 less than the starting price of the brand’s model year 2026 L90 SUV.

According to a report from CnEVPost, the official launch of the vehicle will take place on May 15, marking the second anniversary of the Onvo brand’s official release.

Nio’s Onvo Success

Nio launched Onvo as a sub-brand catering to the mass market in 2024, unlike its namesake brand, which makes luxury EVs. The company’s first vehicle was the L60, followed by the L90, which was launched in July 2025.

“With an expanding product lineup and continuous product upgrades, the ONVO brand will deliver the finest mobility experiences to more family users, driving steady sales growth,” Nio CEO William Li said in March.

Nio investors are now also waiting for the launch of the company's upcoming Nio ES9 vehicle, which opened pre-sales in April at a starting price of about 528,000 yuan and is expected to become the company’s next growth driver in the premium SUV segment.
