RailTel’s ₹209.78 crore order cancelled by Bihar Education Project Council

According to RailTel’s disclosure under the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the cancellation was effected due to unavoidable reasons.

RailTel | The railway PSU is up nearly 8% on Monday, marking the sixth day of gains for the stock in the last seven trading sessions. Over the weekend, the company confirmed the receipt of the Letter of Award from the State Project Director from the Bihar Education Project Council for the implementation for Education Quality Enhancement. The order is valued at nearly ₹210 crore. The move in RailTel has also sent its other railway peers like IRFC and IRCON higher.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has had a work order worth ₹209.78 crore cancelled by Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC).

The order was originally issued under the State Project Director, BEPC, for execution of the ‘Education Quality Enhancement Project’ under the PM‑SHRI initiative in Bihar, with an aim to strengthen digital and educational infrastructure.


According to RailTel’s disclosure under the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the cancellation was effected due to unavoidable reasons.

RailTel now faces the task of re-evaluating its project pipeline and recognisin alternative opportunities to mitigate the impact of this cancellation.
