Redwire Corp. (RDW) is preparing to play a key role in NASA’s next lunar mission, supplying critical imaging and navigation technologies for the Artemis II flight, which will carry astronauts for the first time under the Artemis program.

The company said its advanced camera systems and sun sensor technology will be integrated into the Orion spacecraft for the upcoming Artemis II mission through its work with prime contractor Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT).

The effort builds on earlier contributions to Artemis I. For Artemis II, Redwire is delivering a suite of 11 cameras designed for both internal monitoring and external inspection.

Redwire stock traded over 3% higher in Wednesday’s premarket.

Artemis II is scheduled to take off at 6.24 p.m. ET on Wednesday, carrying four astronauts on an approximately 10-day lunar orbit mission, NASA’s first human voyage since 1972.
