Arundhati Bhattacharya said Salesforce’s strong momentum in India is being driven by rapid expansion, growing innovation capabilities, and a sharp focus on AI-led solutions. The company, she added, is betting big on local talent and continued investment to strengthen its role in the global AI ecosystem.
Salesforce’s latest AI-powered platform, Agentforce 360, is already showing promising results in its pilot phase, with Indian clients reporting significant gains in productivity and efficiency.
Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairperson and CEO of Salesforce South Asia, said several pilot projects have recorded a strong return on investment, while some deployments have already gone live.
“We’ve made presentations to most of our clients, showing them how we can improve their productivity and efficiency,” Bhattacharya told CNBC-TV18 on the sidelines of Dreamforce 2025 in San Francisco. “A number of projects are in the pilot phase, while a few have gone live in production. The ones already in production are extremely happy with the results.”
The company plans to soon host a “Dreamforce To You” event in India to showcase new developments such as the Agent Builder tool and other innovations unveiled at its annual global conference. Bhattacharya said India will remain an important part of Salesforce’s growth and innovation journey, supported by strong local talent and continued investment.
Salesforce has expanded rapidly in India over the past few years, growing its workforce from just 2,200 five years ago to more than 13,000 employees today. “We used to have just one office in Hyderabad, which was our centre of excellence. Today, we have six offices, and we’ll probably have one more because of an acquisition,” she said, adding that the company’s new tower in Bengaluru will be ready for use by December 2026.
Bhattacharya noted that India’s role in Salesforce’s global AI strategy continues to grow, with the country contributing significantly to product development, engineering, and research. “Our engineering talent in India is very important to the way Salesforce has been innovating, and it will continue to remain so,” she said.
On localisation, Bhattacharya highlighted that Salesforce is working to make its AI solutions more relevant to India’s diverse market. “One of the biggest areas of focus is voice. India has many languages, and not just pure languages—there are blended forms like ‘Hinglish’ too. We need to cater to that,” she said, adding that support for more Indian languages will be added in the coming months.
She reaffirmed Salesforce’s commitment to full regulatory compliance, including India’s forthcoming Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, noting that the company already adheres to stringent global frameworks like GDPR.
At Dreamforce 2025, AI and automation have been at the heart of Salesforce’s vision for the future of enterprise productivity. For India, the company’s expanding operations and the early success of Agentforce 360 signal a deepening integration of AI into business workflows — a move that could accelerate digital transformation across sectors.
