Good evening! Markets kicked off the week on a steady note, with midcaps taking the spotlight as strong earnings lifted the Nifty Midcap index to a fresh 52-week high. The broader market’s upbeat tone came even as benchmark indices ended with modest gains. Among top movers, Vodafone Idea surged over 14% after a key Supreme Court clarification on AGR dues, while Bharti Airtel topped estimates with a 14% sequential rise in profit and an uptick in ARPU.

In the IPO space, Groww’s parent, Billionbrains Garage Ventures, drew blockbuster anchor bids worth over ₹50,000 crore from marquee investors. Meanwhile, the ED attached assets worth over ₹3,000 crore linked to the Reliance Anil Ambani Group.

On the policy front, auto sales surged in October on festive demand and GST cuts. And in sports, the BCCI announced ₹51 crore for India’s women’s cricket team after their historic ODI World Cup win.

Earnings-fuelled buying lifts Midcap index to 52-week high; Sensex, Nifty edge higher



The stock market edged higher on Monday, supported by gains in midcap stocks and select financial and consumer names, even as large-cap indices underperformed.

The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 40 points to end at 83,978, while the NSE Nifty 50 advanced 41 points to 25,763. The broader market outperformed, with the Nifty Midcap 100 index gaining 462 points to 60,287 after hitting a 52-week high of 60,400 - its highest level since October 2024. The Nifty Bank index rose 325 points to 58,111.

Vodafone Idea shares surge over 14% after Supreme Court clarifies on AGR dues case



Shares of Vodafone Idea gained as much as 14% on Monday, November 3, after the Supreme Court issued an important clarification on the AGR dues, over which there was a cloud of uncertainty. This is the biggest single-day gain for the stock since April 2024.

The Supreme Court said that Vodafone Idea had asked for relief on both additional AGR dues and a reassessment of all pending dues.

Mehli Mistry has filed a caveat with the office of the Charity Commissioner in Mumbai, seeking to be heard before any change is made in the list of trustees at Tata Trusts, sources told CNBC-TV18.

Mistry has referred to a communication dated October 17, 2024, which, according to him, requires that all trustees be re-appointed as permanent trustees upon the expiry of their current terms.

MUFG in advanced talks to buy 20% stake in Shriram Finance for about $4 billion



Japanese banking major Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire around 20% stake in Shriram Finance Ltd, India’s largest retail non-banking financial company (NBFC), according to a Moneycontrol report citing sources familiar with the matter.

The potential deal, estimated to be valued at about $4 billion, would mark one of the largest foreign investments in India’s NBFC sector. MUFG is expected to secure board representation as part of the agreement, the report said.

Bharti Airtel Q2 Results: Profit climbs 14% QoQ, tops estimates; ARPU rises to ₹256



Telecom giant, Bharti Airtel Ltd on Monday reported a consolidated net profit of ₹6,791 crore for the July–September quarter (Q2 FY26), a 14.2% increase quarter-on-quarter from ₹5,948 crore, outperforming the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹6,600 crore.

Revenue came in at ₹52,145 crore, rising 5.4% sequentially from ₹49,462 crore and beating street expectations of ₹51,006 crore.

Groww IPO: Sources say Anchor book gets bids worth over ₹50,000 crore; ADIA, Norges among top bidders



Billionbrains Garage Ventures Ltd., parent company of the online trading platform Groww, has received bids worth over ₹50,000 crore as part of its anchor book, sources with knowledge of the matter told CNBC-TV18.

Top mutual funds, along with major foreign investors are participating in the anchor book, sources added.

ED provisionally attaches over 40 properties of Reliance Anil Ambani Group worth over ₹3,000 crore



The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached more than 40 properties linked to entities of the Reliance Anil Ambani Group, valued at about ₹3,084 crore, sources told CNBC-TV18.

The attachments include the Ambani family’s residence at Pali Hill, Bandra (West), the Reliance Centre property in New Delhi, and multiple assets spread across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Hyderabad, Chennai (including Kancheepuram), and East Godavari. These comprise office premises, residential units, and land parcels.
