UPI hits record 754 million transactions on October 18, monthly total reaches 20.70 billion
According to data released by NPCI, the total transaction value stood at ₹27.28 lakh crore in October, increasing from ₹24.90 lakh crore in September and ₹24.85 lakh crore in August. On a year-on-year basis, transaction count rose 25%, while transaction value increased 16%.
UPI hits record 754 million transactions on October 18, monthly total reaches 20.70 billion Published Nov 01, 2025 | 3:41 AM EDT India’s flagship real-time digital payments system, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), managed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), recorded 20.70 billion transactions in October 2025, up from 19.63 billion in September and 20.01 billion in August.
According to data released by NPCI, the total transaction value stood at ₹27.28 lakh crore in October, increasing from ₹24.90 lakh crore in September and ₹24.85 lakh crore in August. On a year-on-year basis, transaction count rose 25%, while transaction value increased 16%.

October also marked a milestone for UPI, as it crossed 750 million transactions in a single day for the first time on October 18, 2025, reaching 754.37 million transactions — the highest-ever daily volume recorded.
The average daily transaction count for October was 668 million, and the average daily transaction amount reached ₹87,993 crore. This marked a rise from September’s average of 654 million daily transactions worth ₹82,991 crore.
