However, this time around, it’s possible that global wealth has grown faster than gold supply, pushing demand beyond what miners can easily produce.Unlike gold, Bitcoin can’t increase supply when prices rise. Its inflation rate is built into the code and gets smaller over time. That scarcity, plus its low correlation with stocks, bonds, and even gold itself, makes Bitcoin a powerful tool for diversification over the long run, Wood noted. Despite short-term weakness, Bitcoin has still risen roughly 360% since late 2022.Wood noted that while gold may be benefiting from near-term demand dynamics, Bitcoin is “playing the long game”. Since 2020, Bitcoin has shown very low correlation with stocks, bonds, gold, and commodities. It also noted that trading activity declined thereafter on centralized crypto exchanges such as Coinbase.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Crypto Stocks Weigh On ARK Portfolio</h2>COIN’s stock was the single largest detractor in ARKF, falling 2.31% over the quarter. BMNR’s stock declined 1.48%, while shares of Robinhood slid 1.26%. All three ranked among the bottom five contributors to fund performance during the period.The same was reflected in the other two portfolios. In ARKK, Coinbase and Bitmine also ranked among the five largest detractors, with COIN down 2.07% and BMNR down 1.45% during the quarter. It would allow the Ethereum DAT to pick up more of the token and achieve its goal of accumulating 5% of ETH’s total circulating supply.&nbsp;"We need to pursue this increase now as Bitmine is soon to exhaust its current 500 million authorization," Lee said on Monday. "And when that happens, our ETH accumulation will slow."The uptick in staking is a signal to the market that with more shares available, Bitmine is likely to buy more Ethereum and then lock it away to earn returns for shareholders.
