Cathie Wood’s ARK Buys More BitMine Amid Ethereum Pullback – Adds Coinbase and Bullish Too

Ethereum’s price continued to trade below $3,000 on Wednesday night, pressuring ETH-linked equities like BMNR.

He described the current weakness as consistent with one or more market makers dealing with balance-sheet strain.&nbsp;“This is the equivalent of QT [quantitative tightening] for crypto and has the effect of dampening prices,” he said. “In 2022, this QT effect lasted for 6 to 8 weeks. The move puts the stock down about 0.5% year-to-date, reversing a brief period earlier in 2025 when Tesla had turned positive following a September filing showing CEO Elon Musk purchased roughly $1 billion worth of shares through his family foundation.<h2 class="st-heading-2">ARK Selling Adds Pressure</h2>A significant driver of the latest downturn was persistent selling from longtime Tesla bull Cathie Wood. ARK Invest trimmed its Tesla holdings for the fourth straight session on Wednesday, marking one of its lengthiest selling streaks in months. ARK Innovation and ARK Next Gen Internet sold a combined 70,474 Tesla shares, worth about $30.35 million based on daily disclosures.&nbsp;Earlier in the week, ARK sold just 789 shares on Tuesday and 5,426 shares on Monday, following a much larger cut of more than 71,000 shares last Friday. Even after the sale, Tesla remains ARK Innovation’s largest position at 11.96% and the largest holding in ARK Next Gen Internet at 9.69%. Across all ARK funds, Tesla still carries a 9.94% weight.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Powerwall 2 Recall&nbsp;</h2>Tesla was also dealing with a new safety recall covering a subset of its Powerwall 2 home battery units. The affected systems contain a defective third-party battery cell that may overheat, release smoke, or in rare cases produce small flames that caused minor property damage.Tesla said nearly all impacted units in the U.S. have been remotely discharged to render them safe, with remaining systems handled on-site by technicians. All recalled Powerwall 2 units will be removed and replaced at no cost, with scheduling managed through the Tesla app, email, or direct outreach from Tesla and certified installers.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Musk Dismisses Waymo’s Fleet</h2>As pressure mounted, CEO Elon Musk&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1989054786973626664">drew attention on X&nbsp;</a>by responding to Tesla influencer Sawyer Merritt, who highlighted Waymo’s 2,500-vehicle robotaxi fleet across major U.S. cities. Lower yields could reduce income generated from those holdings, a key driver of Circle’s earnings.Deutsche Bank lowered its price target to $90 from $147 and kept a ‘Hold’ rating on the shares. Revenue came in at $1.37 billion, beating the consensus forecast of $1.28 billion.&nbsp;CoreWeave now expects full-year revenue to be between $5.05 billion and $5.15 billion, down from its previous guidance of $5.15 billion to $5.35 billion. Adjusted operating income is projected to be between $690 million and $720 million, which is below the prior range of $800 million to $830 million. Cathie Wood’s Ark Investment Management bought 2.53 million shares of Bullish (BLSH) on Wednesday as the cryptocurrency exchange soared nearly 90% compared to its initial public offering price.The holdings were distributed among ARKK, ARKW, and ARKF ETFs. The stock was halted twice, just minutes after its debut, due to high volatility.However, a poll with over 9,000 respondents on Stocktwits showed that 44% of traders are avoiding the stock entirely, while 19% were looking for a short-term trade. CoreWeave (CRWV), a cloud infrastructure provider backed by Nvidia (NVDA), announced on Monday that it will offer $1.5 billion in aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes due 2031 in a private placement.<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/CRWV">CoreWeave’s stock</a> edged&nbsp;1.4%&nbsp;higher in pre-market trade.&nbsp;However, on Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the company dipped to ‘bullish’ from ‘extremely bullish’ a day ago amid ‘high’ levels of chatter.The stock was also buoyed by a price target hike from Barclays ahead of second-quarter (Q2) tech earnings, which are set to kick off this week.
