The cryptocurrency then took off with the innovation of the turing-complete smart contract by Ethereum which led to the development of other amazing projects such as EOS, Tron, and even crypto-collectibles such as CryptoKitties.

Cathie Wood’s Ark Investment Management bought 2.53 million shares of Bullish (BLSH) on Wednesday as the cryptocurrency exchange soared nearly 90% compared to its initial public offering price.The holdings were distributed among ARKK, ARKW, and ARKF ETFs. Wood usually invests in tech companies with potential for future growth, even if they trade at substantially higher prices, relative to the broader markets.Woods’s funds had also acquired thousands of shares of stablecoin issuer Circle Internet (CRCL) when the cryptocurrency firm made a <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/stablecoin-heavyweight-circle-s-stock-surges-168-in-blockbuster-trading-debut/chkzLTnRbxl">strong debut</a> at the New York Stock Exchange in June.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/BLSH">Bullish stock</a> began trading shortly after noon on Wednesday at $90 per share, more than double its IPO price of $37. Then it soared as high as $118 before scaling back the gains. The stock was halted twice, just minutes after its debut, due to high volatility.However, a poll with over 9,000 respondents on Stocktwits showed that 44% of traders are avoiding the stock entirely, while 19% were looking for a short-term trade. CoreWeave (CRWV), a cloud infrastructure provider backed by Nvidia (NVDA), announced on Monday that it will offer $1.5 billion in aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes due 2031 in a private placement.<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/CRWV">CoreWeave’s stock</a> edged&nbsp;1.4%&nbsp;higher in pre-market trade.&nbsp;However, on Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the company dipped to ‘bullish’ from ‘extremely bullish’ a day ago amid ‘high’ levels of chatter.The stock was also buoyed by a price target hike from Barclays ahead of second-quarter (Q2) tech earnings, which are set to kick off this week. The brokerage raised its price target on the shares from $140 to $100, maintaining an ‘Equal Weight’ rating on Monday, as per TheFly.&nbsp;Barclays cited stronger channel checks in May and June, following the initial uncertainty seen in April, and stated that it expects strong Q2 earnings results and possible guidance raises.&nbsp;The company said the notes would be guaranteed on a senior unsecured basis by certain wholly owned subsidiaries of CoreWeave.&nbsp;It added that the notes would be offered only to qualified institutional buyers under Rule 144A or to non–U.S. persons under Regulation S.&nbsp;CoreWeave intends to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including the repayment of outstanding debt and covering fees and expenses related to the offering.&nbsp;It&nbsp;has not yet disclosed the interest rate or pricing details of the notes.The debt sale comes as Coreweave expands its footprint in AI infrastructure amid surging demand for GPU-powered cloud services.&nbsp;CoreWeave’s stock has more than quadrupled since its initial public offering (IPO) in March, earlier this year. ARK Investment Management CEO Cathie Wood said the U.S. economy is poised to exit a three-year “stealth recession” and enter a productivity-led expansion, with innovation-focused sectors expected to lead a broad-based bull market.In a&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.ark-invest.com/articles/market-commentary/rolling-recession-should-give-way-to-economic-boom">note</a> published Wednesday, Wood argued that the Federal Reserve’s aggressive rate-hiking cycle, which began in 2022 and lifted interest rates at a historically fast pace, triggered a prolonged downturn that struck sectors in sequence, including housing, autos, and manufacturing.&nbsp;Recent signs of economic weakness in government and high-income consumer segments, which had previously remained resilient, may signal the recession’s conclusion, she wrote.While some economists expect a broader recession to persist through 2026, Wood anticipates a rebound later this year as monetary, fiscal, and trade policy uncertainty recedes.&nbsp;She also pointed to steepening in the U.S. Treasury yield curve—a historically reliable recession indicator—as confirmation that the downturn has already occurred.Wood expects innovation sectors, particularly those tied to artificial intelligence, robotics, energy storage, blockchain, and genomic sequencing, to drive the next phase of economic growth.&nbsp;Cost declines across these platforms are contributing to disinflationary pressures, she noted, citing data from inflation data platform Truflation and ARK's own models.The ARK founder said a “broader-based bull market” could emerge if current economic and political conditions shift in favor of deregulation, lower interest rates, and reduced trade barriers.&nbsp;She contended that current market valuations for innovation-focused companies are near historic lows relative to the broader market.Wood contrasted today’s investor sentiment with the late 1990s tech boom, saying markets are now undervaluing disruptive technologies despite their increasing real-world adoption.The <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/ARKK">ARK Innovation</a> strategy’s adjusted EV/EBITDA multiple has compressed from 278% above the S&amp;P 500 in 2021 to just 13.3% as of March 2025, suggesting deep value territory, according to the firm.With structural innovation trends accelerating and potential policy tailwinds on the horizon, Wood said investors should not wait for “perfect clarity,” cautioning that doing so may result in missed opportunities.As of year-to-date 2025, the S&amp;P 500 has fallen 5.2%, the Nasdaq-100 is down 6.8%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average has shed 4.1%.&nbsp;ARK Invest’s flagship innovation ETF (ARKK) has underperformed the broader market with a 10.6% decline, while the ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF) has outperformed major indexes, edging down just 3.7%.For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.
