Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. The asset is increasingly adopted by traditional institutions, with publicly traded companies adding ETH to corporate treasuries to generate staking yields while maintaining blockchain exposure, and in 2024, the SEC approved spot Ethereum ETFs, allowing traditional investors to gain exposure through conventional brokerage accounts.  Ethereum's roadmap focuses on dramatically increasing transaction capacity to over 100,000 per second, reducing confirmation times, and enhancing decentralization while maintaining security against future threats like quantum computing.

Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) maker VinFast (VFS) announced its first authorized dealership in California on Wednesday, as it seeks to expand sales through a network of dealerships. &nbsp;The <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/vinfast-signs-first-dealership-in-california-302484898.html">new dealership</a>, situated in San Diego, is set to officially begin operations this month. California consumers can explore, test drive, purchase, or lease VinFast's VF 8, a 5-passenger electric mid-size SUV, and the VF 9 full-size, 3-row, 7-passenger electric SUV.While the VF8 starts at $39,900, the VF9 starts at $62,900.The Vietnamese EV maker is accelerating the development of its dealership network across the U.S. California is key to this expansion because of the state’s significant EV growth potential, the company said. VinFast To Open First Dealership in California This Month, Investor Sentiment Improves But Not Yet Bullish

Vietnamese EV maker VinFast Auto (VFS) on Monday reported a surge in first-quarter revenue while losses widened.Total revenue in the quarter jumped about 150% to $656.5 million, above an analyst estimate of $521 million, as per Koyfin data.Revenue growth was driven by an increase in EV sales volumes, primarily due to growth in the Vietnam market and contributions from new overseas markets, the company stated. EV deliveries rose 296% year-on-year (YoY) to 36,330 in the period, while E-scooter deliveries rose 473% YoY.Net loss in the period was $712.4 million, representing an increase of 20% from the first quarter of 2024.Diluted net loss per ordinary share in the period came in at $0.30, compared with a loss of $0.25 in the first quarter of 2024, and above an estimated loss of $0.28.VinFast Chairwoman Madam Thuy Le noted that deliveries in the quarter exceeded the company’s total deliveries for the first half of 2024, despite the first quarter (Q1) typically being the slowest quarter of the year.The company maintains its target to at least double its global deliveries in 2025. VinFast Q1 Revenue Jumps 150% But Loss Widens: Retail Optimism Surges

Vietnamese EV maker VinFast Auto’s (VFS) Indian factory plans have been delayed by a month, Bloomberg <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-05-29/vinfast-in-talks-for-200-million-loan-ahead-of-india-debut">reported</a> on Thursday.The Nasdaq-listed EV maker’s factory in the state of Tamil Nadu will now be inaugurated on July 30 instead of June 30.The delay is owing to the ongoing talks between the carmaker and lenders including Central Bank of India and Union Bank of India, for a $200 million loan, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.The loan is part of an initial tranche of the company’s planned $500 million investment in the country.A company spokesperson confirmed to Bloomberg that the firm is currently in discussions with potential partners, including financial institutions, to support its operations in the country.The report added that VinFast is finalizing its local distribution network before opening bookings for its VF6 and VF7 models in India in the coming weeks. The company is also expected to take bookings for its VF3 in 2026.The pricing of vehicles in the Indian market is currently unknown.Last month, VinFast announced that its net loss widened in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024, while also highlighting its expectation to at least double its vehicle deliveries in 2025.For the full year 2025, the company is looking to at least double its global deliveries. VinFast’s India Factory Inauguration Pushed By A Month, Says Report: Retail Finds No Reason To Be Bullish

The Nasdaq-listed EV maker’s factory in the state of Tamil Nadu will now be inaugurated on July 30 instead of June 30.

Vietnamese EV maker VinFast Auto (VFS) announced on Thursday that its net loss widened in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024, while also highlighting its expectation to at least double its vehicle deliveries in 2025.The company’s total <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://vingroup.widen.net/s/zxsmw7lxlm/25-12847-1_d5.1_vinfast-auto-ltd._6-k2">quarterly</a> revenue stood at VND16,496.4 billion ($677.9 million), including VND15,441.5 billion in vehicle sales, representing a 70% increase from the fourth quarter of 2023. The company’s revenue for the quarter, however, fell below an analyst estimate of VND21,843.2 billion.The net loss in the quarter was VND30,594.8 billion ($1,257.2 million), representing an 81% increase from the fourth quarter of 2023.Adjusted loss per share came in at VND13,074 ($0.54) for the quarter, exceeding an estimated loss of $0.22 per share.The company sold 53,139 vehicles in the fourth quarter, of which 19% were delivered to related parties of the company.Through the full year 2024, the company sold 97,399 vehicles, of which 87,890 units were sold in Vietnam. &nbsp;For the full year 2025, the company is looking to at least double its global deliveries. VinFast’s Q4 Loss Widens But EV Maker Eyes Doubling Deliveries In 2025: Retail’s Unconvinced

Shares of Chinese EV maker Nio, Inc. ended Friday more than 4.4% lower, hitting lows last seen nearly two weeks ago, following disappointing quarterly&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/nio-stock-drops-after-q4-earnings-disappoint-wall-street/ch78CPrRb5c">results</a> that drew some cautionary notes from Wall Street analysts.
