Giants like DraftKings and Flutter Entertainment, which owns FanDuel, are quietly growing uneasy and have announced plans to roll out their own prediction-market products as soon as this month or next. Flutter is building one through a partnership with CME Group, while DraftKings will launch one&nbsp;following its recent acquisition of Railbird Technologies.In recent interviews, DraftKings and Flutter management&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/draft-kings-stock-drops-premarket-on-lower-revenue-forecast-ceo-downplays-threat-from-prediction-markets/cL2vMQ9RETi">have said</a> that sportsbooks and prediction markets are two distinct offerings and, as such, would not cannibalize each other's user bases. What’s more, when Polymarket and Kalshi signed a major deal with the National Hockey League, the first major U.S. sports league to license its trademarks to prediction markets, DKNG and FLUT stocks did not take it kindly.In fact, recent results from both show weak sportsbook revenues, though that’s also due to customer-friendly results in this NFL season. Nevertheless, DraftKings tightened its annual forecast. Revenue for the company’s Las Vegas business decreased by 9.8%, hurt by a broader decline in visitations to the city.Net loss in the period was $55 million, or $0.27 per share, rising multifold from $9 million, or $0.04 per share, last year. Shares of Flutter Entertainment rose 1.5% in extended trading on Wednesday, after the company announced a partnership with CME Group to roll out products that would let its users bet on financial market outcomes for as little as $1.The FanDuel operator would set up a joint venture with CME, America's biggest futures exchange, for the new offering, set to launch later this year. FanDuel customers in the U.S. will get access to contracts for simple yes-or-no wagers on market events, such as the S&amp;P 500 index or gold prices hitting certain levels or on upcoming readings of key economic data, such as the gross domestic product (GDP) or consumer price index (CPI).The partnership extends financial market-based betting to fantasy sports users (in the environment they are familiar with), marking a significant convergence that could reshape the online wagering industry as adoption accelerates nationwide.The development also comes as firms ramp up wagering on a wider range of events, from economic and political outcomes (Kalshi, Interactive Brokers, PredictIt) to sports, as well as trading in alternative assets such as cryptocurrencies.DraftKings, a direct competitor to Flutter, is reportedly exploring an acquisition in the prediction markets space, while Robinhood recently withdrew a product that let users bet on Super Bowl results.CME already offers small-stakes yes-no contracts tied to daily outcomes in futures markets. Two key analysts bumped up their price targets on DraftKings (DKNG) on Thursday, after the online gaming company's quarterly earnings report.Shares were down 0.4% premarket on Friday.CFRA reiterated its 'Buy' rating, while raising the price target by $7 to $57, implying a 26% upside to the stock's last close."We believe DraftKings is becoming the clear leader in mobile gaming due to its industry leading technology and mobile app," the research firm said. "The company's growth continues to impress, and profitability metrics continue to improve."Jefferies, which also reiterated a 'Buy' rating, increased its price target modestly to $54 from $53.
