It operates through the following segments: Sulphur and Water Chemicals (SWC), Electrochemicals (EC), and Corporate. The SWC segment markets sulphuric acid, liquid sulphur dioxide, sulphur, sodium hydrosulphite, sodium bisulphate, zinc oxide, and a variety of inorganic coagulants used in water treatment. The EC segment manufactures and markets sodium chlorate and chlor-alkali products largely for the pulp and paper, oil and gas, and water treatment industries. The Corporate segment provides centralized services such as treasury, finance, information systems, human resources, legal and risk management, environmental, health, and safety support. The company was founded on May 17, 2001 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
