That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday took to Truth Social to call for an immediate ramp-up in U.S. oil production, urging the Department of Energy to act swiftly and warning that elevated energy prices play into the hands of America’s adversaries.Trump’s posts come amid renewed geopolitical tensions in the Middle East between Iran and Israel, as well as continued market volatility in U.S. crude oil prices.&nbsp;West Texas Intermediate (WTI) Crude Oil futures fell more than 1.7% following the posts and Brent Crude Oil futures dipped 0.3%. Both were&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/crude-oil-prices-climb-after-iran-threatens-us-blames-gambler-trump/chm5TRCRR5s">trading in the green</a> before the bell.&nbsp;The&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/USO">United States Oil Fund (USO)</a> was down 0.5% after the opening bell, after surging at least as much as 1% in pre-market trade.&nbsp;Shares of Exxon Mobil (XOM) and Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY) also pared their gains. U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he’s “watching” and urged everyone to “keep oil prices down” in a Truth Social post Monday morning.

Crude oil prices rose Monday morning after Iran warned that U.S. attacks on its nuclear facilities have broadened its scope of retaliation and called President Donald Trump a ‘gambler’ for taking up the risk of aligning the U.S. with Israel.U.S. crude futures jumped to $75.19 per barrel overnight, their highest level since January, before paring gains.West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was trading at $74.55 per barrel early Monday morning, up 0.9%. The&nbsp;United States Oil Fund (USO) gained 1% in pre-market trade.&nbsp;The&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/USO">USO ETF</a>&nbsp;has gained 21% over the past month. The&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/DBO">Invesco DB Oil Fund</a> (DBO) rose 0.5%, bringing its monthly gain to around 15%.Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) and Occidental Petroleum Corp. Oil prices gained over 2% on Monday after the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries plus Russia and other allies (OPEC+) said it would extend its output cut till December.OPEC said in a <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.opec.org/opec_web/en/press_room/7409.htm">statement</a> that the eight OPEC+ countries Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman, which previously announced additional voluntary adjustments in April and November 2023, have agreed to extend the Nov. 2023 voluntary production adjustments of 2.2 million barrels per day for one month until the end of Dec. 2024.The group was reportedly set to raise the output by 180,000 barrels per day in Dec. 2024.Other factors, too, have been weighing on oil prices. Although the commodity witnessed a decline in prices last week due to record U.S. output, reports about Iran conducting a retaliatory strike on Israel has provided a decent support.Reuters <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/markets/commodities/oil-prices-rise-by-over-1-opec-output-hike-delay-2024-11-04/">cited</a> UBS analyst Giovanni Staunovo saying that “considering the ongoing economic growth concerns, we believe the group wants more clarity on the economic impact of the interest rate cuts in the US and the fiscal and monetary policy easing in China.”The report added that the in China, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress will meet from Monday to Friday and is expected to approve further stimulus to boost the slowing economy.
