Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. Stock Market On Top of the World Ahead of Fed Meeting

The Fed is data dependent, so that means a rate cut is ripe for the picking.

Stocks are on track for a lackluster session as traders, uneasy over the market’s record performance and cautious ahead of Wednesday’s rate decision, could prefer moving to the sidelines.Friday marks the first of the three upcoming sessions that could show a lack of direction.&nbsp;&nbsp;As of 4:05 a.m. ET on Friday, the Dow and S&amp;P 500 futures fell 0.15% and 0.11%, respectively, while the Nasdaq 100 futures were down 0.03%. The Russell 2000 futures pulled back a steeper 0.35%.After data showed that jobless claims climbed to the highest since 2021 and August consumer prices largely aligned with expectations, except for the monthly rate, stocks rallied sharply on Thursday. Non-tech stocks showed marked strength, especially those in the consumer, financial, healthcare, material, and real estate spaces.The bull market rally is broadening, with inflows into underperforming non-tech stocks expected to gain steam when the central bank resumes rate cuts.The Nasdaq Composite and the S&amp;P 500 Indices, which were already in record territory, hit fresh highs, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the Nasdaq 100 Index reclaimed their record highs.The&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SPY">SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF (SPY)</a>, an exchange-traded fund (ETF) that tracks the S&amp;P 500 Index, and the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/QQQ">Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ)</a> gained 0.83% and 0.58%, respectively. Economists, on average, expect the headline index to remain almost unchanged at 58.1 in September.&nbsp;While overbought fears restrain traders, one strategist is confident that the rally will play out for a long time. Carson Group’s Ryan Detrick said the current bull market, which will turn three years old soon, is still a rather “young” bull market.&nbsp;“History would say there is likely many more years left,” he said, adding that in the past 50 years, five bull markets got past their second birthday, and the average age was 8 years. The shortest was five years old, Detrick said.Crude oil futures extended their pullback early Friday, while gold futures rose, as they push toward retesting all-time highs. While the former lifted its forecast to 7,000 from 6,550, the latter raised it to 6,450 from 6,050. Incidentally.The premises behind the moves are strong corporate earnings, artificial intelligence (AI) optimism and the economy’s resilience.As of 3:05 a.m. ET on Wednesday, the Nasdaq 100, S&amp;P 500 futures, Dow and Russell 2000 futures were all modestly higher.On Wednesday, a strong surge in Oracle (ORCL) shares and its ripple effect on other AI stocks, and a tame producer price inflation report inspired positive closes by the S&amp;P 500 Index and the Nasdaq Composite Index. On a year-over-year basis, the index may have increased at an accelerated pace of 2.9% compared to July’s 2.7% rate. The monthly and annual rates of the core CPI, which excludes food and energy, are expected to remain unchanged at 0.3% and 3.1%.Among the earnings scheduled for the day are Kroger (KR), Lovesac (LOVE), Adobe, Inc. (ADBE) and RH (RH).Not all are convinced about the health of the rally. Former JPMorgan Chief Strategist Marko Kolanoic warned of an AI bubble. The White House issued a statement Tuesday saying President Donald Trump “feels badly about the location of the attack” in Doha but maintained that eliminating Hamas remains a “worthy goal.”According to the statement read by Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt during Tuesday’s press conference, Trump was informed that Israel was striking Hamas targets, unfortunately located in Qatar’s capital. It stated that the president immediately directed Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to notify Qatari officials of the impending assault.&nbsp;“Unilaterally bombing inside Qatar, a sovereign nation and close ally of the United States that is bravely working with us to broker peace, does not advance Israel or America’s goals,” the statement read. “However, eliminating Hamas, who have profited off the misery of those living in Gaza, is a worthy goal.”The White House added that Trump spoke with both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Qatari leaders following the strike. Netanyahu told Trump he wants to “make peace and quickly,” while Trump assured Doha that “such a thing will not happen again on their soil.”&nbsp;The statement said the President believes the incident “could serve as an opportunity for peace” and reiterated his demand for all hostages and the remains of the dead in Gaza to be released.Meanwhile, Hamas officials reportedly said their leadership survived what they called a “cowardly assassination attempt” in Doha.
