Though it began as a token on the Ethereum network, it eventually migrated to its own autonomous architecture that remains fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Today, the token's utility includes paying for network gas, participating in staking rewards, and enabling decentralized governance through which holders can vote on technical upgrades and economic changes.

Unlike many venture-backed projects, it is maintained by a decentralized community of independent developers and a global network of miners. The project has seen recent institutional adoption, with entities like Lite Strategy and Luxxfolio Holdings adding significant amounts of LTC to their corporate treasuries as of late 2025.

Mumbai: ED Searches 5 Locations In Eros Group Fund Diversion Probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday carried out searches at five locations in Mumbai, including offices and premises linked to Eros International and its associated entities, as part of its probe into alleged fund diversion and financial irregularities by the Eros Group.

The Enforcement Directorate conducted searches on Eros International Media Ltd and associated entities in connection with a Rs 2,000-crore foreign exchange violation case. The searches, carried out in Mumbai, are part of an investigation under the Foreign Exchange Management Act into alleged fund diversion by Eros and its affiliates. The probe follows a SEBI investigation into financial misrepresentation and fund siphoning by the Eros group. The agency claims Eros inflated its financial statements by advancing funds to entities, which were later written off as non-recoverable due to the pandemic, using fictitious movie rights transactions to obscure these activities.
