Bitcoin operates as a decentralized peer-to-peer network where transactions are recorded on a public ledger called the blockchain, distributed across thousands of computers globally. Transactions are grouped into blocks added approximately every 10 minutes through mining, where specialized computers compete to solve complex mathematical puzzles.   Bitcoin has achieved mainstream adoption through multiple vectors. The January 2024 SEC approval of 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs opened Bitcoin investment to traditional finance participants, and corporations like Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) are using Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset to protect against currency debasement, offering MSTR holders amplified exposure to Bitcoin.   The Bitcoin ecosystem continues to evolve with innovations like Ordinals, which emerged in January 2023 to enable NFT-like functionality directly on Bitcoin, and BRC-20 tokens, an experimental standard for creating fungible tokens using Ordinal inscriptions. BTCFi (Bitcoin Finance) represents emerging financial applications extending beyond Bitcoin's traditional role, with protocols like Babylon allowing Bitcoin holders to stake BTC to secure Proof of Stake chains.

Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. Southeast Asia’s Grab Holdings (GRAB) announced on Monday that it is investing $60 million in remote-driving technology provider Vay Technology in exchange for a minority equity stake in the startup.The investment is subject to regulatory approval and expected to close in the fourth quarter. &nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Investment Terms</h2>The company <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://investors.grab.com/news-and-events/news-details/2025/Grab-to-make-a-strategic-investment-in-the-remote-driving-technology-company-Vay-2025-_cFcrFQjS-/default.aspx">added</a> that the funding could increase to a total of $410 million if Vay hits certain milestones within the first year of funding. At the end of the trip, they exit the vehicle, and a remote driver resumes control. A remote driver, hence, operates the vehicles only at the beginning and end of each rental, allowing the remote driver to support more customer trips every hour.Vay launched its remote-driven commercial fleet in Las Vegas in 2024. (NTLA) on Monday said that it has temporarily paused patient dosing and screening for two of its late-stage trials for Nex-z after a patient was hospitalized.The company has paused dosing in a trial that enrolled patients with transthyretin amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy and another that enrolled patients with polyneuropathy. Transthyretin amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy is a severe and progressive heart failure caused by the buildup of misfolded amyloid fibrils, derived from the transthyretin protein, in the heart muscle. Transthyretin amyloidosis with polyneuropathy, meanwhile, is a progressive, multisystem disease caused by the buildup of abnormal proteins in the body's organs and tissues.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Why The Pause?</h2>The decision follows a report on October 24 of heightened liver transaminases and increased total bilirubin in a patient who was dosed with Nex-z in a trial, raising concerns of drug-induced liver injury. Why Did NTLA Stock Tumble 43% Pre-Market Today?

Leerink lowered its price target on Rocket Pharmaceuticals (RCKT) to $7 from $9 on Friday, following the company's announcement that it has voluntarily withdrawn its application for the approval of Fanskya to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of Fanconi Anemia.The analyst kept a ‘Market Perform’ rating on the shares, according to TheFly. The new price target, however, implies a potential upside of approximately 118% from the stock’s closing price on Thursday.Rocket Pharma <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.sec.gov/ix?doc=/Archives/edgar/data/0001281895/000114036125037163/ef20056613_8k.htm">stated</a> in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that the decision to withdraw the application for the gene therapy follows its decision to focus its resources on programs with the clearest regulatory and commercial pathways. The decision is based on business and strategic considerations and does not reflect concerns regarding the safety or efficacy profile of Fanskya or RP-L102, the company said.“Data generated to date continue to support that RP-L102 has been generally well tolerated, with no significant safety signals observed, and a risk-benefit profile that appears favorable,” it added.The company ceased internal investment in Fanskya in July 2025 and withdrew its application with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) as part of a pipeline prioritization and corporate reorganization plan. The company had then warned that FDA approval of Fanskya is no longer expected in 2026.The therapy was tested in the treatment of Fanconi Anemia, a rare, inherited disorder characterized by a failure of the bone marrow to produce enough blood cells, leading to symptoms like fatigue, bleeding, and infections, as well as physical abnormalities and a significantly increased risk of certain cancers. &nbsp;The company said on Friday that it will consider external partnership opportunities to advance Fanskya in the future. “Withdrawal of the BLA preserves Rocket’s ability to re-engage with regulators at a later date should there be an appropriate strategic or partnership pathway to sustainably progress the program,” it said.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/RCKT">Shares of RCKT</a> fell 2% at the time of writing.
