Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. Hoskinson leads Input Output Global (IOG), the technology company that builds and maintains Cardano's core software. The ecosystem operates through three organizations: IOG handles technical development, the Cardano Foundation promotes adoption and standardization, and Emurgo helps businesses integrate blockchain technology into their operations. This structure distributes responsibilities across multiple groups rather than concentrating control in a single entity. It also projected a 100-basis-point hit to its annual gross margin due to the tariffs' impact.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Revenue Projections</h2>The company’s FY26 revenue estimate of €2.30 billion to €2.35 billion also fell below the €2.39 billion estimate. However, the company’s fourth quarter (Q4) revenue of €526 million edged above analyst estimates of €521 million, as tariff impact was somewhat cushioned by robust demand for its products.&nbsp;The company said it expects to invest in capital expenditures of €110 million to €130 million in 2026, well above the €85 million it invested in 2025 to expand production capacity.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">How Did Stocktwits Users React?</h2>On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment around BIRK remained ‘extremely bullish’, and message volume remained ‘extremely high’. Kohl’s (KSS) shares jumped 13.5% at Thursday’s open following the release of first-quarter results that showed a significantly smaller loss than analysts had anticipated, and reaffirmed its full-year guidance.The department store chain reported a diluted loss per share of $0.13, narrower than the expected loss of $0.22, as per Koyfin data.&nbsp;Its revenue decreased 4.1% year-over-year (YoY) to $3.05 billion, missing Wall Street’s estimate of $3.06 billion by a whisker. Comparable sales were down 3.9% as compared to the previous year.&nbsp;“Our first quarter performance was ahead of our expectations, and the actions we are taking are starting to make progress with early signs of a positive impact,” said interim CEO Michael Bender, marking his quarterly earnings debut.Bender took over after Kohl’s fired former CEO Ashley Buchanan earlier this month, just four months into his tenure, for trying to steer business to his romantic partner, Chandra Holt. The company&nbsp;stated that Buchanan did not disclose the relationship as required by its ethics policy and deemed his actions&nbsp;to be cause for dismissal.During the first quarter (Q1), gross margin as a percentage of net sales rose by 37 basis points to 39.9%. Selling, general, and administrative (SG&amp;A) expenses declined 5.2% year-over-year to $1.2 billion, representing 36.0% of total revenue, a decrease of 32 basis points.Operating income increased to $60 million from $43 million in the prior year, equivalent to 1.9% of total revenue.&nbsp;The company reported a net loss of $15 million,&nbsp;an improvement from the $27 million net loss in the previous year. Inventory rose 2% YoY to $3.1 billion. Carter's Inc (CRI) shares declined over 11% on Friday after the&nbsp;kids'&nbsp;apparel retailer posted lower quarterly revenue and profit and suspended its 2025 business forecast.The company said its move is influenced by the recent leadership transition and "significant uncertainty surrounding proposed new tariffs and potential related impact on the business."Carter's appointed Douglas Palladini, a former senior executive for VF Corp's (VFC) Vans brand, as CEO on April 3.For the fiscal first quarter ending&nbsp;March 29, Carter's said revenue declined to $629.8 million from $661.5 million a year earlier. However, it exceeded the $623.8 million analyst estimate from FactSet.Adjusted earnings were $0.66 per share, down from $1.04 a year earlier, but exceeded the estimate of $0.53.The company's annual revenue has declined over the last three years, weighed down by persistent inflation and elevated interest rates, which, among other things, have reduced consumer spending among families with young children.Carter's is one of North America's largest clothing brands for babies and young children. Ollie’s Bargain Stock Falls Ahead Of Q4 Earnings, But Retail’s Bullish

Shares of Kohl’s Corp. recovered slightly in after-hours trading on Tuesday after diving nearly 24% in the regular session following the retailer’s worse-than-expected 2025 guidance, but retail sentiment was upbeat.Kohl’s posted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.95 in the fourth quarter, surpassing estimates of $0.72.Its revenue stood at $5.18 billion, falling 9.4% year-over-year but in line with consensus estimates of $5.18 billion. Comparable sales declined 6.7% in the fourth quarter.Kohl CEO Ashley Buchanan said the retailer has identified key focus areas and is taking action in 2025 to reposition the company as part of a turnaround strategy. The company plans to bring curated, more balanced offerings to re-establish itself as a “leader in quality and value.”For 2025, Kohl’s projected net sales to decline between 5% and 7%, steeper than the consensus estimate of a 1.6% decrease. Comparable sales are expected to fall between 4% and 6% during the year.Diluted EPS is expected to range between $0.10 and $0.60."Kohl's is built on a strong foundation that includes operating more than 1,100 conveniently located stores nationwide, serving over 60 million customers, with 30 million of those customers being Kohl's Loyalty Members,” said Buchanan.Kohl's also reduced its quarterly cash dividend to $0.12 per share, &nbsp;payable on Apr. 2 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Mar. 21.
