With a fixed supply cap of 21 million coins and programmatic halvings every four years that reduce miner rewards, Bitcoin is designed as a deflationary digital asset often called "digital gold." Its value stems from solving the double-spending problem without trusted intermediaries, creating the first truly scarce digital asset with censorship resistance and permissionless access that no government, corporation, or individual can control. Bitcoin has achieved mainstream adoption through multiple vectors. The January 2024 SEC approval of 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs opened Bitcoin investment to traditional finance participants, and corporations like Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) are using Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset to protect against currency debasement, offering MSTR holders amplified exposure to Bitcoin.   The Bitcoin ecosystem continues to evolve with innovations like Ordinals, which emerged in January 2023 to enable NFT-like functionality directly on Bitcoin, and BRC-20 tokens, an experimental standard for creating fungible tokens using Ordinal inscriptions. BTCFi (Bitcoin Finance) represents emerging financial applications extending beyond Bitcoin's traditional role, with protocols like Babylon allowing Bitcoin holders to stake BTC to secure Proof of Stake chains.

This is all because of the 1MB limitation of Bitcoin Core’s block size, causing it unable to accommodate to large number of transactions. Consumer stocks that saw the largest jump in followers on Stocktwits are down sharply year-to-date, underscoring retail traders’ appetite for volatility over fundamentals.

Innovation Beverage Group's stock declined by over 10% in early premarket trading on Thursday, partially reversing the gains from the previous session when its merger news sent the stock rallying.The Australian beverages company, known for Twisted Shaker cocktail and Australis Gin,&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/10/15/3167030/0/en/Innovation-Beverage-Group-Enters-into-Definitive-Merger-Agreement-with-BlockFuel-Energy-Inc.html">announced</a> on Wednesday that it is merging with BlockFuel Energy Inc., an oil and gas exploration company that supplies power for Bitcoin mining.The unusual merger will "maximize shareholder value," IBG CEO Sahil Beri said, adding that it also provides "a public vehicle for BFE to introduce itself to the capital markets." The resultant company is expected to have a valuation of $220 million to $343 million, according to the company statement.To be sure, it is a reverse triangular merger, wherein the subsidiary of the acquiring company merges into the target company. On Wednesday, the Australian beverages company announced a reverse triangular merger with Texas-based BlockFuel Energy.

Innovation Beverage Group (IBG) shares more than doubled in early trading on Tuesday after the company announced it has entered into a non-binding letter of intent for a merger with BlockFuel Energy.BlockFuel combines oil and gas exploration with power generation to support bitcoin mining operations and high-performance data centers in North America.
