Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. Much of Tuesday’s jump came in the final hour of trading after Jana Partners teamed up with Super Bowl star Travis Kelce to launch an activist campaign at the theme-park operator.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/FUN">Six Flags stock</a> is down nearly 47% this year, even after accounting for Tuesday’s surge, as an uncertain macro and geopolitical backdrop weighs down on the consumer discretionary name.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Jana’s Activist Campaign</h2>According to a statement released by Jana, the activist investor, along with Kelce, consumer executive Glenn Murphy, and technology executive Dave Habiger, have collectively accumulated a 9% stake in Six Flags. “JANA plans to engage with the Company's Board of Directors and management regarding opportunities to enhance shareholder value and improve the guest experience,” it said.Jana Managing Partner Scott Ostfeld disclosed the investment at the 13D Monitor Active-Passive Investor Summit. “We look forward to working with the Six Flags board and management to unlock shareholder value for the benefit of all stakeholders,” he said in a statement.&nbsp;“I am a lifelong Six Flags fan and grew up going to these parks with my family and friends," Kelce said. "The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn't pass up."<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Retail’s Saying About Jana’s Stake Build</h2>On Stocktwits, retail sentiment toward Six Flags stock improved to ‘extremely bullish’ by early Wednesday from ‘neutral’ a day before, and retail chatter also perked up to ‘extremely high’ levels. Six Flags Stock Jumps Nearly 5% Premarket — Travis Kelce’s Star Power Is In Play

Activist investor Jana and Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce, along with a couple of executives, have picked up a 9% stake in Six Flags.

Ahead of Apple’s quarterly results, the shares of two of its suppliers received bearish recommendations from analysts.&nbsp;Mizuho analyst Vijay Rakesh downgraded shares of Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (SWKS) and Qorvo, Inc. (Qorvo) from ‘Neutral’ to ‘Underweight,’ the summary of the notes carried by the Fly showed. The analyst also cut the price target for Skyworks stock to $60 from $70, and that for Qorvo to $75 from $87. The new price targets imply downside potential of 20.3% and 18.6%, respectively, for the stocks, from their respective closing prices on Friday.Reacting to the downgrades,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SWKS">Skyworks stock</a> fell 2.60% to $73.36 in overnight trading, according to Yahoo Finance, while <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/QRVO">Qorvo stock</a> slipped 2.15% to $90.15.Irvine, California-based Skyworks and Qorvo are manufacturers of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors. According to transcripts of the latest earnings call of these companies provided by Koyfin, Apple accounted for 63% of Skyworks’ revenue and 41% of Qorvo’s. Qorvo’s primary end markets included automotive, consumer, defense &amp; aerospace, industrial &amp; enterprise, infrastructure and mobile.Mizuho’s Rakesh attributed his downbeat opinion to a tougher macro backdrop and limited stock-moving catalysts for radio-frequency and handsets. The analyst expects 2026 iPhone unit shipments to decline 7% year-over-year (YoY) following a positive performance in 2025. He also expects the new foldable iPhone with high selling prices to delay upgrades, impacting both Skyworks and Qorvo.Mizuho also flagged China headwinds for these companies as subsidies fade into 2026. More clarity on the fundamental outlook for these companies could emerge when Apple&nbsp;reports quarterly results on Oct. 30.On Stocktwits, retail sentiment toward Skyworks stock remained ‘bullish,’ although the reaction to the downgrade hasn’t been fully captured yet. The message volume on the stream increased slightly to ‘normal’ levels. VF Corp shares rose 0.7% in after-hours trading on Tuesday, giving investors a brief reprieve after two sessions of losses following the company's announcement that it will sell its Dickies workwear brand.At the start of the week, VF Corp, which owns Vans shoes and JanSport bags brands, said it is&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/vf-corp-to-sell-dickies-brand-to-bluestar-alliance-for-600-m/chww7NGRdUT">selling</a> Dickies to Bluestar Alliance for $600 million, a haircut from the $820 million it paid for Dickies in 2017. Shares have since fallen 3.5%.On Tuesday, investment research firm Stifel downgraded VFC stock to 'Hold' from 'Buy,' in line with the majority view, and raised its price target by $1 to $16.Currently, 14 of the 23 analysts covering the stock have a 'hold' rating, while six recommend 'Buy' or higher and three recommend 'Sell' or 'Strong Sell,' according to Koyfin data. IWM is gaining momentum as rate-cut hopes, attractive valuations and rising small-business optimism fuel renewed interest in small-cap ETFs.


Brinker International is flying high on the strong performance of its Chili’s chain, which is defying an industry-wide slowdown, but an analyst warns that the momentum might be tough to sustain given tougher comparison rates going forward.Still, CEO Kevin Hochman expressed confidence, citing improving fundamentals and a greater marketing push. "Our operations have gotten so much stronger," he told CNBC in an interview.&nbsp;"Margins are at 18% vs. 12% in recent years, and our AUVs are so much higher." For the next three years, the focus will be on fundamentals and reimaging, he said.&nbsp;Brinker, which also operates Maggiano’s chain, published strong fourth-quarter results and a full-year outlook on Wednesday.Revenue rose to $1.46 billion from $1.21 billion, beating analysts' estimate of $1.17 billion. Adjusted earnings of $2.49 per share were also higher than expectations of $2.For fiscal 2026, Brinker's revenue view, between $5.6 billion and $5.7 billion, and adjusted per-share profit outlook, between $9.90 and $10.50, also came in above expectations.The strong performance from the casual dining restaurant company comes as consumers broadly rein in spending on eating out. Major chains like Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), Cava Group (CAVA), and Sweetgreen (SG) have reported weak numbers.Brinker shares rose 1.6% to $157.38 on Wednesday, and&nbsp;Barclays raised its price target on the stock to $170 from $166. The research firm, however, warned that the company faces tougher comparison rates going forward.On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment turned 'extremely bullish' just after the earnings report and has stayed in the zone since."Brinker Intl wrapped up FY25 on a high note," a user said, with others noting strong Chili's momentum in an otherwise glum market.The quarterly results were boosted by demand at Chili’s, which saw a roughly 24% increase in comparable sales.
