Litecoin is a cryptocurrency that has evolved from Bitcoin after its own popularity in the industry, this alternative, or ‘altcoin’ has emerged to allow investors to diversify their digital currency package, according to Investopedia. Litecoin is one of the most prominent altcoins and was created by former Google employee and Director of Engineering at Coinbase, Charlie Lee. Litecoin was the first to alter Bitcoin and the most significant difference is that it takes 2.5 minutes for Litecoin to generate a block, or transaction, in comparison to Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  ‘While this matters little to traders, miners who use hardware to run Bitcoin's network cannot switch over to Litecoin. This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

VF Corp shares rose 0.7% in after-hours trading on Tuesday, giving investors a brief reprieve after two sessions of losses following the company's announcement that it will sell its Dickies workwear brand.At the start of the week, VF Corp, which owns Vans shoes and JanSport bags brands, said it is&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/vf-corp-to-sell-dickies-brand-to-bluestar-alliance-for-600-m/chww7NGRdUT">selling</a> Dickies to Bluestar Alliance for $600 million, a haircut from the $820 million it paid for Dickies in 2017. Shares have since fallen 3.5%.On Tuesday, investment research firm Stifel downgraded VFC stock to 'Hold' from 'Buy,' in line with the majority view, and raised its price target by $1 to $16.Currently, 14 of the 23 analysts covering the stock have a 'hold' rating, while six recommend 'Buy' or higher and three recommend 'Sell' or 'Strong Sell,' according to Koyfin data. IWM is gaining momentum as rate-cut hopes, attractive valuations and rising small-business optimism fuel renewed interest in small-cap ETFs.


Brinker International is flying high on the strong performance of its Chili’s chain, which is defying an industry-wide slowdown, but an analyst warns that the momentum might be tough to sustain given tougher comparison rates going forward.Still, CEO Kevin Hochman expressed confidence, citing improving fundamentals and a greater marketing push. "Our operations have gotten so much stronger," he told CNBC in an interview.&nbsp;"Margins are at 18% vs. 12% in recent years, and our AUVs are so much higher." For the next three years, the focus will be on fundamentals and reimaging, he said.&nbsp;Brinker, which also operates Maggiano’s chain, published strong fourth-quarter results and a full-year outlook on Wednesday.Revenue rose to $1.46 billion from $1.21 billion, beating analysts' estimate of $1.17 billion. Adjusted earnings of $2.49 per share were also higher than expectations of $2.For fiscal 2026, Brinker's revenue view, between $5.6 billion and $5.7 billion, and adjusted per-share profit outlook, between $9.90 and $10.50, also came in above expectations.The strong performance from the casual dining restaurant company comes as consumers broadly rein in spending on eating out. Major chains like Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), Cava Group (CAVA), and Sweetgreen (SG) have reported weak numbers.Brinker shares rose 1.6% to $157.38 on Wednesday, and&nbsp;Barclays raised its price target on the stock to $170 from $166. The research firm, however, warned that the company faces tougher comparison rates going forward.On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment turned 'extremely bullish' just after the earnings report and has stayed in the zone since."Brinker Intl wrapped up FY25 on a high note," a user said, with others noting strong Chili's momentum in an otherwise glum market.The quarterly results were boosted by demand at Chili’s, which saw a roughly 24% increase in comparable sales.
