Triller Group added that business continues to operate normally and that no material deficiencies have been identified in its financial position or operations.The firm’s management said it is confident the company will regain full filing compliance within weeks. Triller Group also highlighted progress over the past year in resolving accounting and audit matters arising from its October 2024 business combination with legacy Triller Corp. Before the merger, the company was fully compliant with Nasdaq listing requirements.&nbsp;In parallel, Triller is finalizing a comprehensive upgrade of its accounting systems with a Los Angeles-based consulting firm.&nbsp;The company said it is pursuing all available appeal options, including seeking a stay of the trading suspension, and expects to return to regular trading on a major exchange once compliance is restored.The update follows a December 9 decision by the Nasdaq Hearings Panel granting Triller an extension to regain compliance with listing requirements. ($META), which owns Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads, fell 0.72% to $612.68, and Snapchat parent Snap, Inc. (SNAP) moved down a steeper 2.91% to $11.41, while Pinterest, Inc. (PINS) rose 0.46% to $30.77.&nbsp;Alphabet, Inc. (GOOGL) (GOOG) slipped 0.38% to $194.80.TikTok, owned by China’s ByeDance, has a Jan. 19 deadline for selling itself to a U.S. entity or face a potential ban, provided the U.S. Supreme Court rules in favor of the federal ban on the app.&nbsp;Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives said in a note on Thursday that he expects the apex court ruling in the next 24 hours.Analysts and industry watchers have opined that a TikTok ban could be positive for U.S. social media companies. Trump is reportedly considering an executive order once in office that would suspend the TikTok “ban-or-sale” legislation passed by Congress for 60 days to 90 days. 

Chinese short-form video social-media app TikTok faces a potential ban in the U.S. as the Supreme Court, which is hearing the case, is veering toward ruling in favor of banning the app from the country. A Stocktwits poll found that in the eventuality of a TikTok ban, the Chinese app’s loss could be a gain for Meta Platform, Inc.’s (META) Instagram.ByteDance-owned TikTok could be banned in the U.S. by the Jan. 19 deadline if the short-form video hosting service platform does not sell itself to a non-Chinese owner.&nbsp;Strong AdoptionTikTok has made strong inroads in the U.S. and has become very popular, especially with young adults. A Jan. 2024&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.pewresearch.org/internet/2024/01/31/americans-social-media-use/">survey</a> by Pew Research showed that 62% of 18-to-29-year-olds use TikTok, while the proportion of users among adults ages 65 and older is 10%.&nbsp;A December 2024 survey showed that the proportion of adults who said they would support a TikTok ban in the U.S. fell from 50% in March 2023 to 32%.&nbsp;A third of the U.S. adults use TikTok, and 95% of the adult TikTok users say they use it for entertainment.SCOTUS Favors 'Sell Or Ban'Following more than two hours of arguments, justices of the apex court leaned more toward the sell-or-ban law approved by Congress in April on the grounds that China could use the app to spy on the U.S., posing security threats, Reuters&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/legal/supreme-court-hear-fight-over-looming-us-ban-tiktok-2025-01-10/">reported.</a> This is especially serious given that 180 million, or half of the U.S. population, use the app.&nbsp;They also delved into the free speech concerns raised by TikTok's lawyers.Buyers Line-UpTikTok has attracted considerable interest from investors. Liberty Project, founded by former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, confirmed last week that it has delivered a proposal to buy the Chinese app.&nbsp;McCourt said, "By keeping the platform alive without relying on the current TikTok algorithm and avoiding a ban, millions of Americans can continue to enjoy the platform.
