This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Coty is entitled to receive 45% of any proceeds from a future sale and IPO of Wella.</li><li>Coty said the sale completes a programme launched in 2020 to streamline its operations and realise the full value of Wella.&nbsp;</li><li>Coty said it will use the majority of Wella’s upfront cash proceeds to pay down its short-term and long-term debt.</li></ul>Beauty company Coty (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/COTY">COTY</a>) has sold its remaining 25.8% stake in Wella to private equity firm KKR for an upfront cash payment of $775 million, while retaining the right to receive 45% of proceeds from Wella’s future sale or IPO.&nbsp;Coty said the sale of Wella completes the program initiated in 2020 to simplify Coty’s portfolio and operations, while realising the full value of its Wella business.“This transaction marks a pivotal milestone for Coty – both in our transformation and in our long-running deleveraging commitment," said Laurent Mercier, Coty CFO.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Declining Sales, Rising Debt</h2>Coty has been facing pressure from declining sales and profits as higher inflation and uncertainty about the health of the U.S. economy have prompted consumers to cut back on discretionary spending on fragrance and beauty products.Coty said it will use the majority of Wella’s upfront cash proceeds to pay down its short-term and long-term debt. In the first quarter ended Sept. 30, 2025, of its fiscal year 2026, Coty’s total debt increased by nearly 2% to $4.07 billion compared to the same period last year.Coty anticipates that proceeds from the Wella transaction, together with expected free cash flow of over $350 million in the first half of FY26, will reduce its financial net leverage to about 3x by the end of calendar year 2025.Its adjusted profit of $0.12 per share in the first quarter (Q1) of fiscal year 2026 was below analyst expectations of $0.15 per share, according to Fiscal.ai. According to a White House Memo, China will issue general licenses valid for the export of rare earths, gallium, germanium, antimony, and graphite, benefiting U.S. end-users and their suppliers worldwide.The general license means the de facto removal of controls China imposed since 2023.<h2 class="st-heading-2">USA Rare Earth, LCM Deal</h2>USA Rare Earth said that the acquisition represents a significant acceleration of its magnet-to-mine strategy, establishing an end-to-end rare earth supply chain. The deal would enable LCM to continue expanding and serving its global customer base with a broad portfolio of rare earth and critical metals and alloys.This would also help in the supply of Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) metal and strip cast alloy to USAR's Stillwater, Oklahoma magnet facility once production begins.USA Rare Earth said that LCM's metals and alloys are essential to the manufacturing of advanced magnets, semiconductors, and aerospace components.
