Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. (VZ).After settling Monday’s regular session up 0.27% at $73.65,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SATS">EcoStar stock</a> climbed 8.49% after-hours, while&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/VZ">Verizon’s stock</a> edged up merely 0.09% in the extended session.A Bloomberg&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-09-29/verizon-is-in-talks-to-purchase-echostar-wireless-spectrum">report</a>, citing people familiar with the matter, stated that Verizon was in talks with EchoStar, a satellite TV and wireless services provider, to purchase&nbsp;its AWS-3 licenses, which are crucial for carrying 5G wireless signals.&nbsp;EchoStar had already sold some of the airwaves to Verizon’s peer AT&amp;T (T) and Elon Musk’s SpaceX, in a bid to resolve a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) probe over whether it has met its 5G buildout obligations and spectrum use.Citing regulatory filings by EchoStar, the report said the AWS-3 spectrum has a carrying amount of $9.8 billion. The company has sold wireless spectrum to AT&amp;T and SpaceX at prices well over the carrying value, it added. Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest is increasingly bullish on the connected TV (CTV) partnership forged between e-commerce giant Amazon (AMZN) and streaming devices company Roku (ROKU) last week.In Ark’s Weekly newsletter, analyst Nicholas Grous said the collaboration should help solve a critical pain point in CTV-fragmentation by allowing marketers to “manage frequency, deduplicate reach, and measure outcomes more accurately than ever before.”The alliance allows an exclusive integration that will give advertisers access to the “largest” authenticated CTV audience,&nbsp;which numbers an estimated 80 million U.S. households. Grous said this would potentially transform the U.S. CTV advertising market and eventually the global CTV advertising&nbsp;market.&nbsp;He said that despite the collapse in linear TV’s reach, it still accounted for $165 billion in global advertising, with $60 billion of that coming from the U.S.Grous said, “The new solution should debut to all Amazon Demand Side Platform (DSP) users in the U.S. by the third quarter, marking a major leap forward in data-driven TV advertising.”Amazon DSP is a programmatic ad tool that allows advertisers to purchase ad space across the internet, including Amazon's own websites and apps, as well as third-party publisher sites.The analyst noted that early tests of the partnership delivered impressive results, adding that the improved identity and cross-device targeting&nbsp;have helped brands achieve three times more value from their ad spend without increasing their budgets.He added that it has also helped reduce repeated, often annoying ads by about 27%.&nbsp;Wall Street analysts also expressed optimism regarding the deal. Last week, Citi upped its price target for&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/ROKU">Roku stock</a> to $84 from $68 but maintained a ‘Neutral rating,’ The Fly reported. The price target hike came on the back of the Amazon partnership.&nbsp;The firm said the alliance improves Roku's competitive positioning in the CTV space and gives "incremental confidence" in the company's growth trajectory. Retail sentiment toward Cisco Systems, Inc. On Monday, Deutsche Bank analyst upgraded the stock to ‘Buy’ from ‘Hold,’ with the price target revised upward to $73 from $65.The Fly reported that analysts at the firm see improved visibility toward “durable” mid-single-digit growth in the upcoming years.
