The placement is expected to close on September 12, the company said, while adding that both new and existing investors will participate.The firm said that the private placement includes participation from Frazier Life Sciences, Deep Track Capital, Driehaus Capital Management, Janus Henderson Investors, Logos Capital, TCGX, and Venrock Healthcare Capital Partners, as well as other healthcare-dedicated funds.The South San Francisco-based biopharmaceutical company is developing medicines for patients with kidney and metabolic diseases. It stated that it expects to utilize the proceeds from the placement to advance the development of MZE829 in patients with APOL1-mediated kidney disease, initiate mid-stage clinical trials of MZE782 in both phenylketonuria (PKU) and chronic kidney disease (CKD), and continue progress on its research and discovery programs.
