Litecoin is one of the most prominent altcoins and was created by former Google employee and Director of Engineering at Coinbase, Charlie Lee. Litecoin was the first to alter Bitcoin and the most significant difference is that it takes 2.5 minutes for Litecoin to generate a block, or transaction, in comparison to Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  ‘While this matters little to traders, miners who use hardware to run Bitcoin's network cannot switch over to Litecoin. This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

Distributed Exchange Through the use of its intermediary currency Lumens (XLM), a user can send any currency that they own to anyone else in a different currency.  For instance, if Joe wanted to send USD to Mary using her EUR, an offer is submitted to the distributed exchange selling USD for EUR. This submitted offer forms is known as an order book. The network will use the order book to find the best exchange rate for the transaction in-order to minimize the fee paid by a user.  This multi-currency transaction is possible because of "Anchors". Anchors are trusted entities that hold people’s deposits and can issue credit. In essence, Anchors serves as the bridge between different currencies and the Stellar network.  Lumens (XLM) Lumens are the native asset (digital currency) that exist on the Stellar network that helps to facilitate multi-currency transactions and prevent spams. For multi-currency transactions, XLM is the digital intermediary that allows for such a transaction to occur at a low cost.  In-order to prevent DoS attacks (aka spams) that would inevitably occur on the Stellar network, a small fee of 0.00001 XLM is associated with every transaction that occurs on the network. This fee is small enough so it does not significantly affect the cost of transaction, but large enough so it dissuades bad actors from spamming the network.   Prior to Protocol 12, Stellar had a built-in inflation mechanism conceived to allow account holders to collectively direct inflation-generated lumens toward projects built on Stellar.  As the network evolved and grew, it became increasingly clear that inflation wasn’t working as intended — account holders either didn’t set their inflation destination or joined inflation pools to claim the inflation themselves, and the operational costs associated with inflation payments continued to rise — and so a protocol change to disable inflation was proposed, implemented, voted on by validators, and ultimately adopted as part of a network upgrade. Hurlston, said during an earnings call with analysts last month that 60% of the company’s sales are now coming from cloud and AI infrastructure. Further, adding that the company’s growth is powered by AI demand for Lumentum’s laser chips and optical transceivers in data centers.He said that the company’s broad optical portfolio is well-positioned to support the rapid expansion of AI compute.The company saw sales for its first quarter (Q1) ended September 27 of its fiscal year 2026 surge 58.4% to $533.8 million, beating analyst estimates of $526 million, according to Fiscal.ai data. The meme-stock whisperer’s bullish AI thesis has sent the neighborhood app’s shares soaring over the previous two sessions.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>GameStop reported another quarter of falling revenue; however, its net income expanded.</li><li>The stock declined in the after-market session following the results, leaving investors frustrated.</li><li>GME has been largely absent from meme-stock activity this year, which saw the emergence of new names such as Opendoor.</li></ul>For some, GameStop is a curious case. For others, it's straightforward.The video games retailer posted another quarter of declining sales, showing that its pivot to e-commerce isn’t turning the lever just yet, at a time when most consumers are buying games on Amazon.com.&nbsp;However, GameStop managed to rein in costs as it closed more stores, helping to grow quarterly net profit about&nbsp;fivefold compared to the year-ago quarter. Its cash reserve, which includes a sizable number of Bitcoins, also swelled – presenting a complicated case for investors betting on the well-known meme stock.Stocktwits&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/softbank-masayoshi-son-crying-to-sell-nvidia-shares/cLI7BT0REic">reported</a> earlier that GameStop has been absent from meme-stock activity this year, with attention shifting to new <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/how-opendoor-gopro-and-kohls-ousted-the-meme-stock-originals-to-become-this-years-breakout-market-stars/cLILrZLRESe">names</a> such as Opendoor Technologies, GoPro, and Kohl’s, among others. Some investors expected GameStop to announce a significant growth plan or pivot given its strong cash position, but were left disappointed.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/GME">GME</a> dropped 5.7% in the after-market trading on Tuesday, following the results announcement. The stock is down 26.3% year-to-date as of the last close, heading for its worst year since 2021.<h2 class="st-heading-2">No Fireworks</h2>Notably, GameStop has stopped hosting a post-earnings analyst call since early 2023. And with the last of analysts suspending coverage on the company, its quarterly filing is the only resource left to form a stock view. The picture looks, at best, mixed.In the third quarter, revenue fell 4.6% to $821 million, marking the eighth quarter of degrowth in the last nine quarters. Sales in the company’s mainstay hardware and accessories business fell 12% to $367.4 million, while its software sales dropped 27% to $197.5 million. &nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1600/1133;" src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/Game_Stop_revenue_jpg_61a08f1dfe.webp" alt="GameStop_revenue.jpg" width="1600" height="1133"></figure>&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1600/1133;" src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/Game_Stop_net_income_jpg_3cf4eb8c85.webp" alt="GameStop_net_income.jpg" width="1600" height="1133"></figure> The collectibles segment stood out, jumping 50% to $256.1 million. It now accounts for just under one-third of total revenue, compared with about 20% a year earlier. Recently, GameStop has made a bigger push into collectibles, including trading cards, board games, and video game merchandise.Net income rose to $77.1 million, up from $17.4 million in the year-ago quarter. The company’s bottom line has steadied, and Q3 marked the sixth consecutive quarter of positive net income.Cash and cash equivalents were $7.84 billion as of the end of the quarter, although the figure dropped from $8.7 billion in Q2. Notably, GameStop did not purchase any new Bitcoin in Q3, maintaining the holding at 4,710.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Battered Retail Investors Still Bullish</h2>On Stocktwits, retail sentiment for GME rose several points within the ‘bullish’ territory, with 24-hour message volume for the ticker rising by over 160%. But will it sustain?At the time this report was written,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/GME">GME</a> was the top-trending ticker on Stocktwits, with a ‘bullish’ sentiment reading,&nbsp;a score a notch higher than a year ago but lower than the ‘extremely bullish’ mood from six months prior.&nbsp;The stock’s retail following on the platform has grown by only about 3% over the past year.But optimism very much lingers in the air. “There is something i feel it!” a user&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/Moneyboy231/message/637765575">posted</a> excitedly with a GIF showing an ascending line in a chart.It's hardly the first time retail investors are expecting a rally based on their gut, but some also made valid arguments. GameStop is reporting its third-quarter results on Dec. 9 – and with $8.7 billion in cash and equivalents (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/game-stop-stock-pops-5-after-q2-beat-special-dividend-warrant-retail-feels-its-gonna-get-wild/chwjUarRdMd">twice as much as last year</a>) and another $528 million in Bitcoin, the company has the capacity to announce big moves. At least one Stocktwits user was&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/AfghanBattleRat/message/637757655">upbeat</a>.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Happened Last Week?</h2>“Big Short” fame investor Michael Burry&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/michael-burry-posts-unseen-2019-email-fron-keith-gill/cL5a3ejREL1">posted</a> a previously unseen 2019 letter from Gill backing Burry’s then-recent comments regarding GameStop. Burry, a GameStop shareholder, had written to the company’s board, urging it to aggressively do buybacks and reduce senior management pay, among other suggestions.In 2021, Gill rallied behind GameStop, sending its stock up multifold.“Burry kept that email private for six years. He posted it today. With the stock back in the low 20s. You can’t make this up,” a user&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1p8bbqr/michael_burry_just_dropped_the_mother_of_all_gme/">posted</a> on r/Superstonk, a dedicated forum for GME, speculating a big move.Separately, GameStop on Friday unveiled a notably innovative initiative that’s drawing fresh attention from everyday consumers. On Dec. 6, the company is hosting a “Trade Anything Day,” where consumers can bring in almost any physical item and swap it for $5 in store credit.There are some rules: Each customer gets only one item, it must fit inside a 20-by-20-by-20-inch box, and store managers can refuse anything that doesn't meet the&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.gamestop.com/trade-anything-day">guidelines</a>. Social media is&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/search?q=gamestop%20trade%20anything&amp;src=typed_query&amp;f=top">lit up</a> with comments about the promotion.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What’s Working For GME — And What’s Not?</h2>Recently, GameStop has made a bigger push into collectibles, including trading cards, board games, and video game merchandise, and shuttered more physical stores to sharpen its e-commerce focus. The latter is a response to more game sales happening online on platforms such as Amazon.Fans are also upbeat about GameStop’s recently launched platform for trading and storing gaming cards, also known as Power Packs.However, on a&nbsp;broader level, it’s a bleak picture. GameStop’s revenue has shrunk in the last three financial years, although there has been some rebound in the past two quarters.Its Bitcoin play has also failed to deliver the expected upside for GME stock (see chart). GameStop’s Meme Magic Fades In A Year Without ‘Roaring Kitty’ — But Retail Traders Feel There’s A Plot Twist Around The Corner

As a disappointing year comes to a close, some retail investors expect fireworks after GME’s quarterly report next week.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>The price of each of the three Opendoor warrants rose on Monday, with the largest gain in the one with the highest exercise price.</li><li>Opendoor distributed its special ‘KAZ’ warrants last Friday, with OPEN shares declining significantly in the lead-up.</li><li>OPEN shares gained 14% on Monday.</li></ul>Trading in Opendoor Technologies, Inc.’s stock has been complicated recently by the special warrants issue, but the latest signals point to an upward trend.For one,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/OPEN">OPEN stock</a> closed nearly 14% higher at $7.69 on Monday. It had gained 9.6% on Friday, following a six-session decline. And now, with the warrants – three, namely, OPENW, OPENL, and OPENZ – trading on&nbsp;the Nasdaq, there’s another, separate play to keep an eye on.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Warrant Trades</h2>The price of each of those warrants increased in Monday’s trading, according to TradingView, with top gains in the series with the highest exercise price. I’m not a believer until it makes money.”<h2 class="st-heading-2">Legal Chief Sells Stock</h2>In a separate development, Opendoor’s chief legal officer, Sydney Schaub, has filed to sell $4.1 million worth of Opendoor stock, according to an exchange filing on Monday. Although details remain sparse, retail and meme-stock investors speculate that the company may roll out tradable digital tokens tied to fractional ownership of homes and other real estate. Chatter also points to a potential introduction of stablecoin- or crypto-based payments on the Opendoor platform.“We are not behind,” Nejatian said in an&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/CanadaKaz/status/1991151965829583302?s=20">X post</a>, in response to another about the company’s tokenization plans. “And the race isn’t to be first to launch. It is to be the winner.”Zacks Equity Research published an investor note on Tuesday, praising the company’s AI efforts.“Opendoor has launched more than a dozen AI-powered products in just weeks, including end-to-end AI home scoping, automated title and escrow workflows, multilingual AI valuation agents, and a revamped inspection system,” the firm said.&nbsp;The tools have already reduced home assessments from nearly a day to about 10 minutes, and the number of employees needed in underwriting has been reduced from as many as 11 to just one.
