E-commerce unicorn Meesho has filed its updated draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), marking a significant step toward what could become one of India’s largest internet IPOs in 2025.In July, Meesho had filed its DRHP with a total issue size of $500 million.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Meesho To Raise ₹4,250 Crore</h2>The SoftBank-backed firm plans to raise ₹4,250 crore ($480 million) through a fresh equity issue, alongside an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 17.57 crore shares worth ₹2,200-₹2,600 crore ($250-300 mn) by existing investors and promoters. This takes the total IPO size to around $800 million.&nbsp;The IPO structure comprises two parts, a fresh issue aimed at strengthening Meesho’s balance sheet and funding growth initiatives, and an OFS involving partial exits by early backers. Wholesale inflation in India eased to 0.13% in September, compared to 0.52% last month. According to an official press release by the government, the positive inflation rate was primarily driven by rising prices in manufactured food products, other manufactured goods, non-food items, textiles, and transport equipment.WPI Food Index inflation was negative, at -1.99% in September, compared to 0.21% in August.Inflation BreakdownThe wholesale inflation for the Primary Articles category came in at -3.32% in September, from -2.10% in the previous month.&nbsp;Within this, food articles inflation (-5.22%), including pulses, cereals and vegetables, eased compared to the previous month. Non-food articles prices also fell to 3.14% from 5.56% in August. In contrast, the price of fuel and power edged slightly higher to -2.58% from -3.17%.And in the manufactured products category, inflation was 2.33% compared to 2.55% in August.Retail Inflation Falls To 8-year LowsIndia’s annual <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/india-s-retail-inflation-falls-to-over-8-year-lows-in-september/ch6Sh7wR3ke">retail inflation</a> fell to 1.54% in September from 2.07 % in August, and marked the lowest year-on-year inflation since June 2017. A drop in food inflation boosted it.Earlier this month, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) revised the FY26 CPI inflation forecast lower to 2.6% from 3.1%. India’s inflation trends show easing price pressures, raising the expectations for a potential RBI rate cut in December.

The issue received bids for 154.59 crore shares against an offer of 1.65 crore shares. Retail investors applied 30.39 times the shares of offer, non-institutional investors 93.72 times, and Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) 115.62 times.The ₹1,377.5-crore IPO comprises a fresh equity issue of ₹500 crore and an Offer For Sale (OFS) of ₹877.5 crore by promoter General Atlantic Singapore RR Pte Ltd, whose stake is expected to fall to over 35% post-IPO.Rubicon Research IPO has a price band between ₹461 to ₹485 per share.Proceeds from the fresh issue, around ₹310 crore, will be used for debt repayment and strategic initiatives, including acquisitions and general corporate purposes. Employment growth also moderated, with less than 5% of companies reporting hiring growth, while outstanding business volumes increased at a marginal pace, reflecting limited pressure on capacity.At the end of Q2, Indian services firms saw a continued rise in expenses, with labour and material costs increasing since August. Prices charged for services increased modestly, marking the slowest rate since March and aligning with long-term averages.Despite these softer trends, business sentiment strengthened, reaching a six-month high. Companies cited advertising, efficiency gains, competitive pricing, and tax incentives as key drivers supporting optimism for the year ahead.“Business activity in India’s services sector eased in September from the recent high August level. Most trackers moderated but nothing in the survey suggested there is a big loss in growth momentum in services.
