Litecoin was the first to alter Bitcoin and the most significant difference is that it takes 2.5 minutes for Litecoin to generate a block, or transaction, in comparison to Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  ‘While this matters little to traders, miners who use hardware to run Bitcoin's network cannot switch over to Litecoin. This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

Chinese search engine and artificial intelligence (AI) company Baidu, Inc. (<a class="mention" data-mention="$BIDU" data-symbol-id="BIDU" href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/BIDU" target="_blank">$BIDU</a>) reported sub-par third-quarter earnings amid weakness in its core online marketing business.Beijing, China-based Baidu reported third-quarter non-GAAP earnings per ADS of 16.60 yuan or $2.37, marking a 19% year-on-year (YoY) decline and a 21% sequential drop. Analysts, on average, estimated 17.90 yuan per ADS for the quarter, according to Yahoo Finance.Total revenue slipped 3% YoY and 1% sequentially to 33.56 billion yuan or $4.78 billion, slightly ahead of the 33.43-billion-yuan consensus estimate polled by LSEG, according to Reuters.Baidu Core revenue was flat YoY to 26.5 billion yuan, with online marketing revenue slipping 4% to 18.8 billion yuan. Despite a mixed outlook due to tariff threats and the structural challenges faced by the Chinese economy, the firm remained positive about outbound travel demand in China.&nbsp;Trip.com shares have rallied over 65% for the year-to-date period. Trip.com Analysts Optimistic Amid Robust Travel Trends In China As Stock Looks To Extend Strong Gains For Year 

Mizuho’s optimism regarding Trip.com is premised on strong outbound travel trends in China despite the domestic economy’s structural challenges and the looming tariff threat.

Shares of Europe’s largest airline Ryanair Holdings fell nearly 14% during Friday’s pre-market session after the firm reported a 46% year-over-year (YoY) decline in its first quarter profits at €360 million (~$392 million). Ryanair also believes that while second quarter demand is strong, pricing remains softer than its expectations due to higher domestic capacity. It now anticipates Q2 fares to be materially lower than last summer vs. its earlier expectation of flat to modest gains.On the positive side, the airline is operating its largest ever schedule this summer, with over 200 new routes and five new bases.Ryanair Group CEO Michael O’Leary said In the last 10 days of June, the airline suffered a significant deterioration in European ATC capacity which caused multiple flight delays and cancellations, especially on first wave morning flights. This makes it “more urgent than ever that the new EU Commission and Parliament deliver long delayed reform of Europe’s hopelessly inefficient ATC services,” he said in a statement.Following the disappointing earnings announcement, shares of other European airlines also took a hit. Shares of easy Jet and Wizz Air Holdings fell over 8% on Monday. International Consolidated Airlns Grp, which runs British Airways, also dipped more than 3%.With today’s decline, Ryanair shares are now down more than 20% YTD and over 35% from their all-time highs set in April. Still, retail investors remain bullish on the travel portion of the economy and are betting that shares will regain altitude at some point in the near future.
