Railtel Corporation of India Ltd rose 2.78% today to trade at Rs 196.1. The S&P BSE Telecommunication index is up 0.98% to quote at 1941.57. The index is up 3.33 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, Optiemus Infracom Ltd increased 2.1% and Route Mobile Ltd added 1.77% on the day. The S&P BSE Telecommunication index went up 15.29 % over last one year compared to the 12.47% surge in benchmark SENSEX. Railtel Corporation of India Ltd has added 24.31% over last one month compared to 3.33% gain in S&P BSE Telecommunication index and 1.45% drop in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 4142 shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 5.46 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 196.1 on 29 Aug 2023. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 93.95 on 29 Aug 2022.

RailTel Corporation of India has received the work order from Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure for supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of ISP Hardware, Software and License for Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON) amounting to Rs. 27.91 crore (excluding GST).

The contract is for the supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of ISP hardware, software and license for Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON). The project has to executed within a period of 90 days.RailTel, a Mini Ratna (Category-I) Central Public Sector Enterprise is an information and communications technology (ICT) provider and one of the largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers in the country owning a pan-India optic fiber network on exclusive Right of Way (ROW) along Railway track. As on 31 March 2023, the Government of India holds 72.84% stake in the company.The public sector enterprise reported 48.51% jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 38.39 crore on 24.08% rise in revenue from operations to Rs 467.61 crore in Q1 FY24 over Q1 FY23.The scrip advanced 0.57% to currently trade at Rs 168.95 on the BSE.
