The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. The asset is increasingly adopted by traditional institutions, with publicly traded companies adding ETH to corporate treasuries to generate staking yields while maintaining blockchain exposure, and in 2024, the SEC approved spot Ethereum ETFs, allowing traditional investors to gain exposure through conventional brokerage accounts.  Ethereum's roadmap focuses on dramatically increasing transaction capacity to over 100,000 per second, reducing confirmation times, and enhancing decentralization while maintaining security against future threats like quantum computing.

The project traces its origins back to 2004 with Ryan Fugger before being co-founded in its modern form by Jed McCaleb and Chris Larsen. The company, now known as Ripple, works with major financial institutions as partners and investors to build global payment solutions. To protect the network from spam, a small amount of XRP is burned during every transaction, and the token is further utilized by institutions as collateral to access traditional markets and manage digital asset infrastructure.  Institutional adoption of the asset reached a major milestone in November 2025 when the SEC approved the first wave of spot XRP ETFs. These products, offered by major issuers including Bitwise, Grayscale, 21Shares, Canary Capital, and Franklin Templeton, are now listed on prominent exchanges like the NYSE Arca, Nasdaq, and Cboe BZX. Indian benchmark shares inch higher, led by IT on rising odds of US rate cut

India’s benchmark stock indexes inched higher on Monday, led by information technology shares on rising expectations of a Federal Reserve rate cut in December. The Nifty 50 rose 0.19% to 26,118.05 and the BSE Sensex was up 0.15% at 85,360.3 as of 10:08 a.m. IST. Twelve of the 16 major sectors logged gains, while the broader small-caps and mid-caps traded flat. IT firms, which earn a significant share of their revenue from the US, rose 1.5% as odds of a US rate cut in December rose after New York Fed President John Williams said interest rates could fall “in the near term”. Lower US rates support economic growth in the world’s largest economy, benefitting sectors such as IT, while making emerging markets such as India more attractive for foreign investors. Other Asian markets added 0.8% on the day. With no major domestic macro announcements scheduled till the GDP data on Friday, “markets will remain sensitive to US inflation data, comments on rate trajectory, dollar index and foreign flows,” said Pravesh Gour, senior technical analyst at Swastika Investmart.

Indian equity markets opened on a positive note, with the Nifty index holding above the 25,100 mark. Gains in consumer durables, metals, and PSU banks lent support, while FMCG and IT stocks saw mild selling.&nbsp;At 09:30 a.m. IST, the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NIFTY50.NSE">Nifty 50</a> traded 62 points higher at 25,171, while the Sensex was up 251 points at 82,178.
